On the contrary historically west coast market depends on tech recruiting for majority of hirings. E.g usc brand value is much much much better than matshall and same gear for cmu wrt tepper (tepper though still better than marshall - also ib consulting peipone better( If you wannaconsiser networking west coast colleges are great - but - I really do wonder- how much is tech networking gonna help to people graduating MBA in this economy who are open to all sorta recruiting Again rice as a brand is lil weaker than Univeristy of Texas as a brand And rice is doing great in energy placement where market hasn't shrunken that much Again rankings change every year - so it's mostly like t15-t25 playing between themselves ... won't matter much I would hope USC canceled forte this yr.... and so did bunch of big names... that is another factor affecting ranking....
