No interview here either. I think I have resigned myself to no chance at Ross. This sucks.

dghazer- did you apply to any other schools?

it's funny because i applied to 6 schools and ross was hands down my safety / last choice. i think my essays for ross turned out better than some of my other apps, but i've already done interviews with all the other schools i applied to: (chicago, ucla, wharton, lbs, and northwestern).

I applied to Cornell, Mich, Texas, and Virginia so far. I got excited with invites from Cornell and Texas and thought I would surely get an interview at Michigan since I heard that Mich seems to interview more than other schools. Perhaps I received wrong information or perhaps this is a good shift back into reality. Anyways, I thought this app was my best but it is what it is. I guess there is still a sliver of hope. I figure I will hear have decisions from those two in a few weeks and have a good idea about Darden by then...maybe I should just get moving on those rd 2 apps now.

Ross interviewed 39% of applicants per businessweek's profile last year so they interview less than most other schools

So if they interview about 40%, and accept a total of 20%, looks like your post interview chances are around 50/50. I'll take it.

That is weird! I mean, I could see Ross not extending you an offer if they think your profile is so competitive that they wouldn't have a chance of getting an accept from you, but no interview?

However, it does make me feel better!

Thanks refurb, but I highly doubt that they chose not to interview me because I would not accept an offer. I did at least think that I was in their ballpark.

The "complete" e-mail they sent me said this:

Quote:
This email is to notify you that your application to the Ross School of Business is complete, and is currently under review by our Admissions Committee. This has no bearing on whether you will be extended an invitation to interview. You may or may not have already been invited, and we will continue to invite applicants to interview through the first week of December. There is no further action required of you at this time.

So, the first week of December, that gives us two more days for one last push. Let's hope that have a few more to give out...

Ugh....

Anyways, I remember reading that Ross will review your app for each of the rounds. So if you don't get an accept in Round 1, your apps goes to Round 2. If no accept, then to Round 3.

Anyone actually know how that works? Do you just get waitlisted or what?

I believe that's the case IF you get waitlisted...

Were just assuming based on the fact that they said, "we will continue extending invitations until the first week in December"

I just finished my interview with an alum.

It was a good experience, and the interviewer made me comfortable initially with a small intro by him. He explained what he is going to do and what is the expected..post that it was good conversation and overall I have an 'okayish' feeling about it. The Qs were:-

- Show me person behind the resume
- Family
- Why MBA?
- Why Ross?
- Why 2nd MBA?
- What will u contribute to Ross?
- One failure/setback story & learning?
- How do you handle team dynamics( eg; competition etc)
- Why a gap in study( between my under-grad and grad)

He countered my goals story by saying I dont need a MBA for it, I had to reframe my why MBA answer. I hope he was convinced! In the end, I asked him questions on his experience at Ross, fav classes, fav profs, MAP experience, life at Ross etc..

I was really struck by the passion he exhibited for his school. He is a 2005 passout, but seems to remember his times there with a lot of passion( no other word would fit here) and clarity..Meeting him makes me really want to go to Ross 8-) provided they want me
