My partner and I were looking for hours last night at apartments. Ideally, we'd love to buy something, but I doubt that is going to happen since neither of us will be working. :P According to the website, there are a few really nice apartment buildings that a lot of the Ross grad students live at that are maybe a 5 minute drive from campus. I noticed the rents go up the closer one gets to the campus. Has anyone heard about the parking situation? I imagine if there are a lot of MBA students willing to live a short drive away, there must be some reasonable parking setup.

Did anyone start a thread for Ross Class of 2011 admits yet? Or did I just miss it?

I was going to make one as soon as the R1 deadline passed.

Is a car necessary in Ann Arbor? I got the feeling its more of a college town, and a car isn't necessary. Where would you drive to....Detroit?

Dont think I'll be shipping mine from california, and I dont think I'd want to put the miles on for that drive...

I asked the car question to a few MBA2ers during my visit...general consensus was that it wasn't needed. Fairly easy to find someone who had one if needed and easy enough to get around outside of that.

That about sums it up. It's by no means necessary but there's definitely added convenience to having a car in AA. It makes it easier to buy groceries, go to the mall, get to and from the airport, or make short weekend trips to Chicago. I will most likely be driving out there (again).

In our case, we are from Chicago so we're brining our cars. We can give rides! :-D

And one's an SRX 8-seater. And it's navy blue. We can just slap a yellow "M" on the hood and it would be the perfect tailgating shuttle. :-D

hah...yeah I think that whole sub-prime meltdown thing makes it harder to get a loan without verifying income.

Although I suppose you can just report your past income, and just leave out the whole going back to school full time thing.

Yeah, back in the good ol' days we could have bought a factory in downtown Ann Arbor with nothing but our signatures and then taken out some credit swaps to get rich when we inevitably foreclosed. C'est la vie...

Damn its 2500 miles one way from San Francisco to Ann Arbor. My 2005 TSX already has 60k miles on it. Dont want to additional miles on it...

I thought LA to SF was bad.

Well, it's past 5pm in Ann Arbor now. I'm hoping for a midnight miracle, but at this point it's looking unlikely...

Me too.

I think I'll just check it when I wake up in the morning. But I've got a feeling that if I wake up at 2am, I won't be able to get back to sleep unless I check.

It will be interesting! So far only 59% of people who got interviews have gotten accepted, where last year it was over 90% (I think only one person out of 13 didn't get accepted after getting an interview).

There are a lot more people in this year's R1 batch, so it wouldn't surprised me if the number changed a lot!

Also, a lot of people last year got big $$$ (there were at least 3 people who got $20K/year scholarships and a lot who got $10K/yr, but not so many this year!)

We will see what the finally tally is tomorrow!

Good luck to those still waiting and congrats to all who got accepted!

Based on the numbers I am going to make a prediction.

At least one person will get an admit tomorrow without having received a phone call.

If I'm right, that person (or persons) has to give me kudos.

If I'm wrong, will never show my face in this thread again!!
