tough year indeed across the board. The way things are trending I think class of 2013 will have much better employment stats, and the programs climb up the rankings can't hurt either.

Well even I hope so! Am still not able to understand why US news and FT rank broad so low, whereas BW seems to rank it so high up!

same here man.. also i am not able to find out nething abt the Broad's placements stats.....i m a bit confused b/w Simon and Broad ....I m looking for a career in finance .....i hav Schol+GA from Broad( almost freee ride) and 30% schol from Simon...
Though Simon is a gud school for Finance no doubts but the offer from Broad is too lucrative for me .....however, i want to make sure that broad is not a bad choice as far as placements in finance r concerned...

Hi gomba11, yr gmat score is really impressive. If I were you, I wud directly apply for top15 schools like CBS, NYU,whose finance is really strong. And combined the good locations, you wud have more opportunies after graduation.

I am also in a double mind about whether to try another year or go for broad. Given the GA+schol package, I am thinking of going for broad, inspite of the rather low reputation for finance. Thats because, I will have a very low student debt and wont think twice before taking risks(like coming back to India)

Hi,
I am in too.
Received the email last night.

My profile

Indian, GMAT: 710, TOEFL: 113
Work Exp: 3.8 yrs in IT
Under Grad: Good
EC: Good

Got the following admits so far:
1. Georgetown - McDonough w/o $$$
2. Univ. of Florida - Hough - Full $$$ including Health Insurance :)
3. MSU Broad - No info about scholarships yet.
4. Illinois Urbana - Champaign - Waitlisted

Am totally confused :(
I wish to pursue Marketing and mix some credits of General Management, if the univ permits to tailor my MBA prog.

As of now am tilting towards UFL since its free! :)
Folks, please advise.

Also will i receive the Broad scholarship information separately?

Hey Preeti, congrats on your admits. Yes with Broad you will recieve scholarship info separately, how long that will take depends on case to case basis and what round you are accepted I think. I know if you have an acceptance deadline approaching quickly you can contact broad directly (call the admissions director) and let them know about your situation. Additionally, at Broad you pick one concentration but you have 15 left over elective credits to tailor-make your MBA degree for you. In the past Broad had a primary and secondary concentration, but this way you can custom fit your MBA by Industry or whatever to get the degree you want. They get into detail on their website, but that is paraphrasing, in other words you will be able to conectrate in Marketing while taking additional MGT courses

I'm in, I received the call last week and was extremely excited. Everything I have read/seen/heard indicates that this is an excellent program, and deserving of its ranking. I have been thoroughly impressed with Broad in all aspects of the process, as they were very communicative and personable. I felt like my application was valued despite how competitive the program is. I will be attending the new admit weekend next week, anyone else going? Any suggestions on attire? I was hoping business casual as my current job does not require business attire and although I dress nicely I don't want to be under-dressed for this.

Hey nb23, congratulations. I'll be going to admit weekend as well and I'm also not sure what the standard is for attire. I don't even have a suit that fits so I'm hoping it is laid back.

well with the tuition deposit due in a couple weeks and taxes due in a week (I owe Uncle Sam big time due to a side business) I'm going to hold off on getting a nicer suit. I'll post around and see if I can get anymore feedback but I think we'll be ok! Should be fun!

hey, I talked to somone from admissions today, they scheduled a phone chat just to catch up (and see if I was accepting I think). Anyway it went great and I was informed that it would probably be business casual and they'd send more info out before the weekend.

Hope the admit weekend is great, cant make it though. International applicant :) The 400 dollars wont cover 1/3 of my one way airline cost.hehe. Running into rough weather in the office, the moment they realised I have my sights set on an MBA, I might just get my last promotion revoked. LOL . Emailed the Paul and Jeff Mcnish, that there is a slight chance my CV might look different from what I submitted during the app process. :) . Hope they dont revoke my Schol :)
