Hi Seflanas, I had submitted my application on Jan6th, 11.31 am.
Not sure why the application is not yet processed. The only reason I could think of is a large number of applications still may be there to process...
My application status still shows as submitted only.

I generally had similar experience when trying to reach out to the admissions office. What worked for me was attending info session and sending Amal a private message via zoom chat and sending her email directly. They are all mostly remote, so while you can try calling them, but likelihood of anyone in the office is low.

Hi All, Is there anyone who is facing a similar situation, do let me know. My portal still shows Submitted and I have not received any communication from Adcom till now despite sending multiple emails and calling them as well.

I have written 3 emails in the last 3 weeks, with one of them to their Admission Co-ordinator, Amal. They apparently do not care to respond. I have applied to multiple universities but it seems like MIT SDMs Admission Office is an unprofessional one.

vikasblue1, I agree with you. Despite sending multiple mails from the past 3 weeks, there is no response from MIT SDM team. This is very strange and unprofessional.
I am not sure what should be the next course of action. They are even not responding to phone calls as well.

I am not trying to defend MIT-SDM, but I think unprofessional is too strong a word, at least my personal experience is great. I had received a response in few hours to within-day whenever the question was particular.

Hey Vikasblue1 and Blueowl, have you got any response/update on your SDM application, pl do share. It's been weeks but no communication from ad-com on application status despite multiple followups. I am in a dilemma of waiting for the SDM decision versus going ahead with what is in hand.

Yeah I was accepted. They let round 1 know on March 5, 2021. Decision for round 2 is on May 4, 2021. You should email Amal directly (google her name + MIT for email). Seems to be the only way to get a response. SDM@MIT.edu is a black hole.

Maybe you are considered for R2? I would be more optimistic for you if you are not receiving a response. As most who got rejected did receive it so they maybe considering you for R2 and can't say one way or other until R2 results are out, April second week or so?

Hi All,

Despite sending mails to Amal and ad com multiple times requesting an update on my application status I have not received any response till date.
I had submitted my application before the first application deadline and the application status still shows as submitted.
It seems no choice but to wait with hope for a positive outcome.
Anyone facing a similar situation as me, do post.

I am thinking maybe April end or may first week. But it’s pure assumption, I think it took about two weeks after deadline for first round.
