It seems like this year is the quietest of all past years for applicants to this program. Where is everyone? Did anyone submit for todays R1 deadline? Best of luck! I just sent in my application and now in the waiting window! I've seen some info about what an interview might look like but the source of information seems all over the board. What exactly is this Data Visualization topic that keeps being mentioned? The class was large last year, has anyone connected with current students to learn about the dynamic on campus? It seems interview calls may come as early as Oct 22? Excited for the opportunity to meet and hear everyone's story.

Interesting to know MIT also calls. I thought they only send email. My partner is an alum of MIT SF and he received an email in 2018. Do know whether MIT SF adcom team calls or send emails?

Good Afternoon,

I was also waitlisted for the SFMBA class of 2023. I have not been able to determine the yield rate for the program, which might offer some insight into chances of acceptance in subsequent rounds.

However, I did learn that our applications will again be reviewed in round 2 (and if need be, round 3), and we will receive another decision notification.

In the meantime, I will try to provide 1 or 2 updates to the admissions committee, if able, to express my continued interest in the program.

If you gain any additional insight on the process, please let me know. Best of luck.

Mike5326 - Thanks for sharing your thoughts.. even I have no clue about the yield rate. And no data points from previous batches. I did share some of my updates and also the EA assessment score which I did not get a chance to share before. I also had one of my mentors submit the 'Letter of Support'. It will be great to know more on the expectation from 'Letter of Support' - Is more than 1 expected? If anyone has heard anything from previous batches.. do share.. will help.

I will keep posting in case I hear any further details..

@BAMBA It looks like you are already ahead of the game! I have not heard anything relative to the optimal number of letters regarding the letter of support. I would assume that 1 or 2 solid letters that speak to why you are a good fit for the program (what you will contribute and what you stand to gain) would be sufficient. I have two being drafted at the moment. Has anyone reached out about potential webinars for waitlisted people? I haven't heard anything.

I have not heard anything yet, but found this from an interview Dawna Levenson gave in 2018:

“If you are waitlisted, you can choose to remain on our waitlist; that’s a start. Then, relatively soon after the end of an application round, we host a waitlist chat where admissions staff provide guidance. At that point, we do want to receive relevant updates from you. We’re not telling you how often, but you shouldn’t cross the line by stalking us or bombarding us with information. We want to know the best information about you and that you continue to be interested in Sloan--as long as that doesn’t go too far.”

This made me think something may happen. I’m in the same position in that I haven’t heard a thing, but will definitely let you know if I do!

Thanks Mike! Wishing you all the best! Will share in case I get to understand anything different. I knew someone in the Adcom around 2018... infact she had also mentioned that they get continuous calls from candidates on waitlist and at times it becomes difficult to manage the situation.
