I got a rejection. How do you think i should proceed? I would love to reapply or appeal. Also, can rejection be overturned?

Sorry to hear.

As I understand it, you cannot reapply for the class of 2023, nor can you appeal the decision. You can reapply as early as the next Round 1 for the class of 2024.

Tnosa,

Sorry to hear about your rejection. I don’t think it’s possible to appeal, but, of course, it’s possible to reapply next year.

How did you know about your rejection - did you get an e-mail or the status of your application form changed?

Good luck!

I got a NO as well. But I am not taking it as a rejection, but redirection. Definitely something better is planned for us. Guys don't lose heart!

Just received interview invitation.

Congrats MSx2023. Whats your profile?

Hi SolisSpace,

I have Bachelor in Economics (GPA 3.55 out of 4.0) and Master in Finance degrees. My work experience is ~16 years (13 years if to exclude time of university studies, as I combined my work with studies all the way). During past 14 years I worked in asset management industry with focus on EM. Since pandemic I co-founded early stage start-up with AI-assisted solution for amateur sportsman. In the future I have one idea in the area of impact investing, which I want to develop during my studies.

In regards to tests - I applied with EA score of 154.

If you have more questions, please feel free to contact me.

Hi all,

Got an interview invite.. To all R1 candidates, Kindly share your interview experience..

Posted from my mobile device

Congratulations on receiving an interview invitation. I'll share a bit of what I posted previously:

In November, I interviewed with Johanna Hising DiFabio, and the experience was pleasant. I was asked to elaborate on the post-MBA goals I had discussed in my application and was asked a few behavioral questions (what leadership moment I was most proud of and an example of how I built trust in diverse teams I've led). I was also asked questions such as why MIT and why now? The interview lasted about 35 minutes.

I was not asked about the follow-up essays I submitted, but I understand everyone's interview is different. The interviewer will have viewed your entire application before the interview, so expect it to be tailored to you. In retrospect, I think my answers could have been more developed in some areas, but it is easy to be critical of oneself.

I am happy to share what I did to prepare in more detail if anyone is struggling. In the meantime, I will share this:

First, the video at the link below helped construct my answers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZhnbOCgn0o&t=1165s

Second, schedule your interview as far out on the calendar as possible to give yourself more prep time. I understand the R2 dates are more compressed than R1, so this might be easier said than done.

Best of luck to you!

Mike
