International Applicant. R1. Still have not heard anything. Cannot believe there is still another month to go till feb 15th.

The wait is agonizing. Not to disappoint but I believe only W/L and dings are left now. I will be surprised to get an interview invite now though I want one. My experience, I received very late interview invites from two schools and in both cases I was W/L after interview.

From previous forums (Stern - 2009 and 2010), I haven't seen anyone getting interview invite in the last 20 days or so. I may be wrong. I want someone to prove me wrong. However, there were many dings around Feb. 1 and 2. This is one of my last schools, and yes I am an international applicant.

I agree- yet there do not seem to be a lot of updates from internationals this year- only a couple so far. Maybe, Stern adcom just left the internationals to the end of the batch, and we will be learning our fates within the next couple of weeks? just a darn hope...
in any case, that is so weird that there are some people who already got in and some other who haven't even been able to get an update- and all within the same round!

I would not make any assumptions about admissions process as they tend to change year over year. It's true it's been two months with no notice but in this forum there are only 2 international students with interviews. Not sure how they reached 40% of the class that way.

Maybe it's wishful thinking. Also international student R1 who works in NY and has not heard a single word from the school since applying in November.

Finally got my package in the mail from Stern yesterday, 10 days after getting the e-mail. However, they put a partial scholarship offer in there so I am more than happy to wait for that!

Hi all,

Just submitted my application for R2. What a relief, really hoping for the best (and to you all as well).

Few points to note:
1) This talk about Stern adcom officers as difficult kinda surprises me. They came across as very genuine ppl trying to help. Its one of the main reasons that made me apply to this school.

2) Int'l applicants are going to be clubbed together in March? That seems a bit unfair for R1 applicants. Can anyone confirm the process?

3) What did you guys submit for Essay 3?

For Essay 3, I just did an essay. Out of curiosity I searched on Youtube...seems like quite a few people posted videos. At the end, it's what insight the adcom can gain from it. For me, writing an essay was the best way.

Congrats! Getting a scholarship is huge. You think you are going to matriculate or waiting to hear back else where?

I'm pretty sure I'll matriculate. I really love the school and it has everything I want really. I am leaving my rd2 applications open simply because I spent the time and money to complete them and submit them, so I want to see my results. Unless some other school offers me a lot of money though or I get into my shoot-for-the-moon school (Wharton), I'm going to Stern and I am very excited to go.

You at least got the email notification that they received your application right?

I wonder when they will start sending out interview invites for consortium applicants. I think the diversity interview day is in late february so I'd imagine we'll probably start hearing within the next two weeks.

Yes I got the "thank you for applying email!". I didn't know they had a day for interviewing diversity applicants. Do you know if the same percentage of interviewed consortium applicants are admitted as regular applicants?
