To everyone asking about the waitlist situation:
Honestly, unless you give them a really credible reason, like a significantly improved GMAT score, it’s very unlikely you’ll get an admit. They are known to keep a lot of international students on the waitlist instead of directly rejecting them like other schools. Because of this, even if some students accept offers and then go to other schools, the seats left vacant don’t really open up for waitlisted candidates. They try to fill them in the next round with domestic US candidates.
I was on the waitlist last year and again this year. I also have admits from other schools, but I applied here as a safe option. The pattern is pretty clear. They keep you waiting till May or June, and when I spoke to the recruitment manager, they pretty much told me to move on to other decisions. They understand the problem with the visa timeline and admit it’s highly unlikely they will share an admit.
If you’re on the waitlist, I’d say it’s better to explore other options instead of holding out hope.
Thanks for this insight. I guess we must “read the writing on the wall” and move on.....
