Anybody visiting Ross on Feb 5th to attend event and interview? I am concerned about weather forecast. It seems there is a snow storm in midwest around that time. Driving on snow after a very long time. Shuttle is not an option to me. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Snowstorm - what do you mean? It's just another day here in the midwest. But seriously, the worst of the snowstorm should hit us today. It's gets better tomorrow and on Friday. You should see some snow on Saturday, but nothing like yesterday/today. If you've driven in snow before, you should be fine.

If you come and visit, you'll get a great idea of what it's like to live in Michigan through two winters. The campus is beautiful right now.

I had an interview scheduled with Ross for this morning. When I got to the airport yesterday (flying in from the west) I was informed that my flight had been cancelled, and no airline was flying into Detroit, Chicago, or anywhere else within a 500 mile radius of Ross due to weather conditions. With no foreseeable improvement in weather conditions over the next several days I called Ross and rescheduled my interview for next week. The lady I spoke to told me that pretty much everyone had cancelled their trip this week to visit/interview and the adcom actually extended interview dates by a week to compensate for this setback.
It was a double whammy for me because I was supposed to interview at Cornell on this same trip. Hopefully weather is better next week!

The wait (and long winter) continues...

Lolzz, "some snow" at -21 degree C and in a snow storm ... I wonder how an international student who might have never seen snow can survive the 6 month winter there? how was your experience? :-)

Btw, I've got informed by the school that they might shut down due to harsh weather condition, and my Skype i/v has been postponed to next week. So, guessing those who are visiting the campus should plan their trips carefully and stay warm, guys!

So, if the school closes, there is the possibility that the second wave of interview invites for round 2 will also get postponed. Sigh! more waiting :(

I'm guessing you mean applicants who interviewed with alums? I doubt there's a significant difference from the overall acceptance percentage. Regardless, even if their kept, those stats aren't public

Well driving in snow isn't the issue. The problem is getting there..given the several airport closures...hopefully it will be better by Friday

Just wanted to post a nice picture I took this morning of the main campus. You can see the Ross School in the background.

FYI, Michigan hasn't canceled classes since 1978.

Not true. I was there in undergrad and in spring 1995 they closed for a day due to the ice. With all the freezing rain, you couldn't walk more than 2 feet without falling on your arse. Maybe they just recorded that as an "ice day" rather than a "snow day"
