Well, I had my interview a few days ago. It went great, the interviewer is the CEO of a very big local investment firm, and a very nice person.

Questions included:
* Tell me about yourself (personal, work expereice etc...)
* Positive team-work experience
* Negative team-work experience
* Why MBA
* Why Ross
* Anything else you would like us to know about you that you didn't mention before

that's about it.

It lasted about 40 minutes, he told me about his Ross experience, he was very friendly and the interview itself was wonderful (he was very impressed by the fact that I made the effort to visit ann arbor, that I mentioned the "university town feeling" it has, the layed-back atmosphere of Ross etc...) When we said goodbyes he directed me to a shorter way out and was joking that if I don't find my way out he'll just hire me...

So, I guess there's nothing to do now but wait. I believe I did my best in the app. and in the interview and I feel very positive about it.

I am wondering how you guys answer the question "* Anything else you would like us to know about you that you didn't mention before". It seems like we should include all the things related to us in the first question : introduce yourself. Really hard to think about extra things.

I just talked about some other activities I have that I didn't put down in my CV (not enough space on a 1-page document). things that are nice but not very important on a CV. I did notice that when I mentioned that I play soccer in an amateur team he was impressed and wrote it down.

Well, I couldnt find the deadlines and deposit amount for Ross and Haas where I applied.

Aside, that's really nice that you got an email from your interviewer. I got a courteous response to my thank you email where he provided his email id for further questions but I didnt followup. Thoughts?
My interview was pretty clinical. He made me comfortable to start with and then we got down to business. He went by the book and asked me about 13- 14 standard questions in a 35-45min interview. We didnt get to talk about his current job or anything.

I am currently re-evaluating the choice of my rd2 schools. If I get a ding, I will move on. If not, what is the timeline to accept and how much deposit needs to be made?
Where can I find this info for most schools?
I apologize if this question sounds very presumptious but this will help me choose rd2 schools properly.


well the school sites with deadlines usually have a column for "deposite by" date... from ones i have seen it is usually a pretty big window of 2-3 months for the deposit unless you are doing EA/ED or something...

got a thank you reply from interviewer... guess she probably submitted her review. she sounded like she liked me but who knows?

Just received a late Ross invite for round 1 - I had to provide additional documentations.

Quick questions for those of you who have had your interviews:

I am working in a rural area in Vietnam, the closest in person interview in Singapore. Is a skype interview and in-person interview weighed the same. Anyone have experience with interviews with the alumni from Singapore?

Any interview pointers would also be appreciated, I have kept up wit the thread and appreciate the feedback some of you have provided from your experience. Thanks to the community!

Hey, I have been told that it is the same. I would advice you against the phone interview, but Skype works very well. I had the Skype interview!

Regarding the SKYPE interview, if I only have an old webcam with not so good resolution, and the video windows is not very big(but it's clear), do you think I should buy a new one? Another question is, do I need to adjust the camera right in front of my face so that I can be looked like looking at his eyes? But then I can not see his video in the screen if my eyes are staring at the camera.

I can't understand why school want to use SKYPE interview rather than phone interview...

No, it looks like your camera should be fine. As long as the interviewer can see a fairly decent image of you, you should be good. And no, you do not have to adjust the camera to be in front of your face. If you can, great. If not, no big deal. As long as you look into the camera when you speak, you'll be making the "eye contact" required.

I am going to apply in round 2 and I am international. In my research I have found that people tend to over analyze things. As long as you have solid profile, then rounds don't matter. When people don't get in then they attribute it to factors like rounds, essays, etc. But if one doesn't have solid, well-rounded profile then even first round won't help. After all, don't we see dings and WL in round 1!!
