Just in case anyone was still wondering, this was posted on the Ross Admissions Director's blog today:

"11/22/2010
Round 1 interview invitations completed
As of today, all of our Round 1 interview invitations have gone out. The vast majority of our invitations were extended on October 25th and November 12th. A small handful of invitations were sent after that date. If you have not received an interview invitation at this time, you should not assume that you will be “rejected;” you may be waitlisted and invited to interview at a later date.

All Round 1 admissions decisions will be posted on January 15th. You will receive an email from our office about a week prior to that date with instructions on how to access your decision."

Here's the link: https://rossblogs.typepad.com/admissions/

Oh well...sigh...on to the next school

hey vince, we also share some school similarities... have you heard from darden yet? not sure how many invites they been giving out and if it is lost cause now... same boat as you waiting for marshall next week...

Darden's R2 for me. I think it would be a great school and the program looks nice, but I'm not sure about getting in at this point. I put that one off so I could concentrate more strongly on just Fuqua, Marshall, and Ross. I'm now starting to wonder about my school choices for Round 2, depending on how the Round 1 invites go. Still, I have been paying attention to Darden a bit and it looks pretty rough this year. It just seems like, according to the current students commenting on a number of threads, that the competition this year for admissions to any program is fierce.

Roll call updated.

Hey folks, I've asked this before but no one has responded. I'm looking for a person who will take over the Ross thread. Since I did not get an invite during my round 1 application, I don't think I'll be able to keep up with the changes for Ross coming up. Please let me know if you'd like to take over the thread by either replying or pming me.

Hey Bakfed, I feel ya on Ross. How are your other apps going?

bakedbread

bakfed:

what's your plan for round 2? im applying to most of the schools you applied to in rd 1 for my rd 2.

I'll be gearing up for USC, UCLA, Cornell, and Duke. I'm really trying to figure out if something's wrong with my application (i.e. essays/resumes). Even though round 1 hasn't offically been over for me, I'm just going to mentally think that I'm rejected from everywhere. Hopefully by the middle of next year, someone will take me in. :lol:

Nice set you got for R2. Don't stress it, take a breather, sit back and look at your application as a whole. Are you displaying the points you want to display across your entire application? If you are not, then go back and address the points you had not earlier. I'm not saying this works perfectly, but it definitely helped me from app to app. You know, I noticed that the more I came onto this website, the harder and harder it was for me (no offense to anyone here, def a great support system), but hearing about admits, dings, etc is tough especially when you have no idea where you stand. (yet for some reason i'm back on here posting lol) anyways, don't stress it and good luck!!

Just received a late Ross invite for round 1 - I had to provide additional documentations.

Quick questions for those of you who have had your interviews:

I am working in a rural area in Vietnam, the closest in person interview in Singapore. Is a skype interview and in-person interview weighed the same. Anyone have experience with interviews with the alumni from Singapore?

Any interview pointers would also be appreciated, I have kept up wit the thread and appreciate the feedback some of you have provided from your experience. Thanks to the community!

thanks for the kind words. I'll definitely be reflecting on what I've been doing. I guess a bit of self-assessment never hurts anyone.

I've also updated the roll call to reflect the most recent interview invites.

Still no takers on someone else being the Ross threadmaster?? You'd think there would be someone that is interested in an interview or getting admitted that would consider taking it on. It might be cool to drop in an interview with Ross that you are the threadmaster on a popular MBA website. Oh well...nice of you to continue anyway.

haha, that's a pretty funny comment - it just might work :P

But the reality is someone did offer, I'm just waiting for bb to reply/make changes. I will continue to make changes as necessary since it's still my responsibility.

I am in the same position. I submitted my application for the weekend program on 11/21 and my letters of rec have not been started yet. I see that nakulshah was not added to the roll call, so it appears that this thread is only for full time applicants, however I thought I would add my voice if there are any PT weekenders strolling through here as I was. Maybe I'll start a PT thread.

Good luck nakulshah and hopeuflly I'll see you in May 2011!

Hi Frnds,
I have applied to the Ross Weekend, Part Time MBA program for 2011.
I was sent a receipt confirmation on Oct 2nd 2010.
I would like to provide you my updates and also keep myself updated with the trend.

If it is applicable, can you add me to the group? Or should I be in a separate Weekend PTMBA thread? (I ask because I tried to search for Ross Weekend PTMBA thread but couldn't find one)

Thanks,
N

I am currently re-evaluating the choice of my rd2 schools. If I get a ding, I will move on. If not, what is the timeline to accept and how much deposit needs to be made?
Where can I find this info for most schools?
I apologize if this question sounds very presumptious but this will help me choose rd2 schools properly.

well the school sites with deadlines usually have a column for "deposite by" date... from ones i have seen it is usually a pretty big window of 2-3 months for the deposit unless you are doing EA/ED or something...

got a thank you reply from interviewer... guess she probably submitted her review. she sounded like she liked me but who knows?

Guys,

I have volunteered to be the new threadmaster.
I'm happy that I didn't have to write essays, send transcripts or be interviewed for this position :)

On the beginning I may need your help, just to get familiar with this thing.

lagsantiago,

Thanks for taking over as Ross threadmaster. Maybe it is a good sign of fit. There are lots of posts on this thread.

Well, I had my interview a few days ago. It went great, the interviewer is the CEO of a very big local investment firm, and a very nice person.

Questions included:
* Tell me about yourself (personal, work expereice etc...)
* Positive team-work experience
* Negative team-work experience
* Why MBA
* Why Ross
* Anything else you would like us to know about you that you didn't mention before

that's about it.

It lasted about 40 minutes, he told me about his Ross experience, he was very friendly and the interview itself was wonderful (he was very impressed by the fact that I made the effort to visit ann arbor, that I mentioned the "university town feeling" it has, the layed-back atmosphere of Ross etc...) When we said goodbyes he directed me to a shorter way out and was joking that if I don't find my way out he'll just hire me...

So, I guess there's nothing to do now but wait. I believe I did my best in the app. and in the interview and I feel very positive about it.
