I saw an update from Stanford, opened my email went into my account and a lot of letters (black and red) with exclamation marks and GSB language but in other words, not the usual congratulations. I was shocked for 20 seconds until I finally realized that is wasn't a ding! In fact, it was an invite. As soon as I woke up, I realized that GSB still mattered to me deep inside even though I've managed to handle the anxiety by focusing on my other schools. Damn! This is going to get crazy next week.

Hope if a good indication of what's coming

Don't mean to get too picky on this, but when you say they mentioned "1/2 way through," did they give any indication for whether that means (1) half the estimated number of total invites have already been extended, or (2) half of the applications have been reviewed, (3) the other interpretation could be (and we all hope it is the case), the first out of two readers have read almost all the applications, now they are moving onto second reviewer / Bolton decision for invite point?

Hello,

I received my invitation to interview on October 28, and interviewed on November 7. My interviewer was pleasant. We met at a coffee shop. Some of the questions she asked included:
1) Tell me about a time when you intiated a project and saw it through from start to finish
2) What is your leadership style?
3) How do you choose people to include on your team?
4) Why Stanford?
5) Why an MBA?
6) Anything else that you'd like me to know about you?

I can't really remember the rest. The entire meeting lasted for about an hour.

Apologies but I didn't go into additional detail with the admissions contact. The context made it seem like option 2. I was asking if I can add additional information on my current role achievements as I had only started on the role when I applied. She mentioned that they are already half way through reviews so it is not likely they would be able to add the additional information.

I find it really hard to grasp that almost all the interviews have been sent already. I think that by the end of this week, we'll probably approach the 90% mark. But there's still four (and a half) days left. Hang in there, everyone!

I agree in that I don't believe all invites have been sent out. I don't know enough to say whether or not I find the 90% reasonable or not. I do think that as of today, we are only HALFWAY through the date range they specified in their e-mail. If they weren't going to continue to release invites anymore, then why have a date range that is double the length you actually need? I know they decided the range in advance, but still. Stanford is notoriously slow, right? So I do not find it surprising in the slightest that they would still be looking at candidates. As a previous poster said, someone has to have the last invite. I would gladly take it, and I'm sure everyone else here would as well.

On a semi-unrelated note, I have managed to stop checking this forum every hour! Now, instead, I check it at 9AM, 12 noon, and 5 PM PST..... (although I am now checking it at 2 PST) I figure that those times are the most likely for invites to be released. It gives me a heart attack every time I see a bunch of new posts because I assume that the interview invites are flowing in and I haven't gotten one.

EDIT: To those of you with friends/coworkers/colleagues who also applied but are not on this forum, if you hear any news from them about invites, could you let us (or least me...) know? I am off on my own little island at a small defense contractor where no one hardly understands what an MBA is or does...

If it helps with lowering anyone's heart rate here... nobody I know received an invitation from GSB. Several of them received HBS invitations so they are competitive applicants. I would be shocked if they were all dinged without interview.

At least ding notifications will be streaming in right before Thanksgiving. That way, everyone can binge on food for support. Nom nom nom :-D :-D :-D

I have my interview on Thursday and just received the highly unusual news that there are going to be not one but two alumni interviewing me . I don't know how to interpret that. Any clues?
