It's time for you to get push email for your personal account.

At least that way you will only jump when you hear/feel it go off.

Also, I wouldn't start thinking about it for a couple more weeks. The week of January 19th (18th is a holiday here) is when I'll start compulsively checking my iphone.

I had a terrible dream last night. In it, everything was exactly normal (went to work, saw friends, etc.) except that I had been dinged by Stanford the day after applying.

I forgot how horrendous the waiting is!

My productivity has dropped ever since I submitted my apps and I can't stop refreshing my email. Ugh!

This is scary Egy, really scary...

The night I submitted Stanford I had this dream where I'm trying to submit my app, and when I click on the payment link, a pop-up comes up, "Are you sure you wanna waste this much money, your app is already in the shredder!" :o

I'm like WTF, at least you could have send me a nice note saying, Thanks for applying n' all..... :(

Hahaha! That's pretty brutal! But completely unrealistic... They'd LOVE to keep your $265! ;-)

The worst thing is that when I woke up this morning it took me more than a few minutes to realize it had just been a dream...

So i've been having post submission concerns as well... and I've got a question I wanted to raise and see if you sages could help me out.

I'm considering if I should retake the GMAT.

In a nutshell: I've got a DAMN good reason why my undergrad GPA was low. But I turned it around mid 4 years and I later graduated with honors. Here's the kick in the butt, even in my turn around years, my quant class grades were horrible.

My counter to that statistic is that my career has been extremely quant heavy, and I've had mucho success.

BUT... my quant score on GMAT is below 80%.

So the question is, should I retake the GMAT? I feel I'm a very very strong candidate for Stanford, but my ONLY weak spot is the possible perception of low quant ability.

thoughts?

If you've already submitted, I doubt they'll be able to process a new GMAT score. Also, even if they could, a determination might be made before you study/take it again... it would all depend on where you fell in the pile.

That said, if you get waitlisted, a new and improved GMAT score could help greatly...

So, if you want to be super proactive, you could study and take it again in the event that you are waitlisted... or you could see if you get waitlisted, and then do it again.

If you aren't applying until next year, then yes.. absolutely.. take it again.

i didn't think of the waitlist.... good point.

I guess what i'll do is do some "lite" studying, reviewing things on my spare time, and see if I get waitlisted, then dive in and bust it out.

thanks for the advice.... now back to Kellogg and HBS apps.

I was in similar situation. Took GMAT again in November. Without giving any details - new results have been instantly added to my profile by Columbia's Adcom for ED.

I would really consider retaking GMAT - for GBS and HBS additional 20 or 30 points can be decisive, IMHO.

Aenigma, have you tried contacting adcmon by telephone? I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I would definitely give them a call.. mostly because if you don't, there will be no confirmation at any point on whether or not you are in RD2, at least until you get an interview/get dinged. It's not like they won't know you submitted it after the deadline... the time stamp will be on the application. For your sanity, I would call them.

Thanks, Egy, and others who replied. I am delighted to say that I called the admissions office and they said not to worry about a slight over-shoot. Certainly taught me a lesson about leaving things to the last minute, though.

And can I say? - they seem sooooo nice over there. Sigh.

Anyone interested in trading essays just for kicks? I'm curious to see how awful mine are relatively speaking!

Hey guys, I got an email from Wharton confirming that my App was completed for round 2 the day after the final deadline.

I have yet to receive such a notification from Stanford (instead, it simply says submitted on the 6th).

Was wondering if anyone else got a completed for round 2 notification?

I received an automated email that thanks me for submission. But doesn't say what round I applied.
Also when I go to Apply yourself I see only the date and time I submitted the app.

Ok sounds like we're in the same boat. Given Wharton's quick confirmation that my application was complete for round 2, I guess I was assuming the process would be similar for Stanford. Thanks.
