There are more components to it per se vs where you were born or your passport was issued at.
While some applicants talk about the Indian male IT syndrome, the reality is more complex. If you are a consultant from Canada, which is probably going to be considered similar to the US, you will have to compete with all the other consultants from US / Canada for a spot in a diverse class. At the same time, if you are a special forces, soldier from Canada, or an Olympic champion from Canada, or a successful entrepreneur from Canada, it is a diff perspective. There are multiple lenses.

By the way, does country (background ) matters in terms of gmat score? Am Canadian citizen.
