I wouldn't sweat it. It's easy to read too deeply into the timing of notification, and I'm not convinced it has that much significance.

I'm curious to know more details about the texas waitlist. I got waitlisted after applying for the 1/15 deadline, and have been on the waitlist for a month...waiting anxiously. Does that mean my application is being reviewed again with the last round? Any idea on when Texas starts to admit folks from the waitlist?

I may be making this up, but I think some mentioned a deadline of April 15 for committing to McCombs, which makes sense as it would fall just after Preview Weekend. I would think that after that date, they would immediately begin the process of reviewing waitlisted candidates (I am one as well).

Of course, beginning the process and actually sending notifications are two different things. Good luck, and let's hope this process moves quickly so we can begin making plans one way or another.

My deadline was April 15th but i was admitted at the beginning of March. I'm sure those admitted at the end of march/beginning of April will have later deadlines.

As an aside, I was at admitted students weekend. I thought it was very well done. I wouldn't say I found anything too surprising but I am a native texan and have been to Austin many times. They did show an updated list of employers for 2010 And it was quite impressive. Every bb bank, consulting firm, the major marketers et al were represented.

UT Hopeful, thanks for this tiny bit of info. I was wondering what the decision deadlines were. I've been admitted to another program, but still holding out for Texas. Maybe there's hope I can still avoid the $1200 deposit.

I submitted 3/8 and interviewed 3/26. I called the admisions office to ask for my status saying that I had deadlines coming up. They told me that decisions will come out 8-12 weeks after your submission date which I think, is their party line. I pressed them further on it and they said to call back within a week of when my deposit is due for the other schools and they would see what they could do regarding a decision. Anyways, it sounds like they are taking their sweet old time with decisions.

Yea devil I got the same vibe. I've contacted multiple people and it has been a fruitless affair. You've learned more than I've been able to. They don't seem to overly care about prospects' time schedule.

Has any recent admits heard about scholarships? Vicki said they'd be releasing this month's decisions today... haven't heard anything yet. Still hoping though.

Yea, it actually kinda bugged me knowing that a number of people who had applied there as a safety and have since withdrawn their applications. I mean, I am basically calling you to tell you I'd love to go to YOUR school and turn down my other options and I felt like they blew me off. I was pretty clear that I had other deposits to make that were eminent other than the one for the acutal MBA and they still didnt say much. I guess that is OK and UCLA here I come...I will be putting a $1500 deposit on preschool for my kid in West LA tomorrow and that will seal the deal for me.
