Yea, it actually kinda bugged me knowing that a number of people who had applied there as a safety and have since withdrawn their applications. I mean, I am basically calling you to tell you I'd love to go to YOUR school and turn down my other options and I felt like they blew me off. I was pretty clear that I had other deposits to make that were eminent other than the one for the acutal MBA and they still didnt say much. I guess that is OK and UCLA here I come...I will be putting a $1500 deposit on preschool for my kid in West LA tomorrow and that will seal the deal for me.

congratulations to you, dcdevil! I'm sorry about the frustrations and run around you received but hey, I'm sure you have a bright future ahead of you!

on a separate note, the mccombs 2012 group on facebook is now up to 192...beginning to strongly consider contacting the admissions office again but doubt it would do anything. don't understand how there are so many qualified people here dying to go to McCombs as they continue to admit people who eventually just withdraw... if only they knew how passionate and excited we are.

when i contacted them a couple weeks back, it was one of the MAC members and by email. they unfortunately did not respond. any luck on your end?

Yes, I agree the mccombs adcom is not typically very communicative. Did anyone who has been waitlisted send in revised information about their jobs, resume, etc and if so what kind of feedback did you get?

I met several student members of the MAC during my visit and engaged in conversations with them. Right after my visit, I touched based via email with everyone I met, and sprinkled in questions regarding how to improve one's odds on the waitlist. The results were mixed - 2 out of 3 responded, and the information was what I expected.

I think the facebook group is not really an indicator of total class size right now. Those members probably include people from the MAC. Pretty sure the wait-list hasn't been looked at yet.

As for people telling trying to speed up the decision process by telling the admissions committee that you have another deposit due, I really think you're not helping yourself. Keep in mind that most of us waited AT LEAST 4 weeks after interviews to hear back. If you were so concerned about going to McCombs, you probably should have applied earlier rather than this late - but that's just my opinion.

I contacted the Admissions over the phone a couple of weeks ago to check up on the status of my application. I would recommend that method of getting in touch with them. A tired-sounding but very helpful MAC member looked up my profile, told me everything was in order, and apologized for the wait. Apparently, the international trips happen in March-April, so they've been very understaffed lately. This would explain the "quiet April"

Still, most people did have to wait for 4 weeks, so wait it out and then start worrying.

Scholarships went out today. :-D I got one! I feel loved. :) (no, not a full ride or anywhere close, of course... but still it feels great)

Yeah, I'm not in worry mode just yet. I interviewed 03/26 so have 3-4 weeks left before I'll hear anything. Just noticed a lot of radio silence.. Congrads on the Scholarship; every little bit counts :wink:

I think its just a matter of there not being as many R4 applicants as the other rounds... most people don't wait so long to apply.

True. I bet they're looking for really specific details to fit gaps in their profiles too. Is there anyone from R3 Jan deadline who hasn't heard back one way or the other yet (aside from waitlist folks like me)?

Yea and there might be a little difference in my application as a dual degree applicant, i wouldn't touch a business class until the second year so i'm not really competing for a spot in the mccombs fall 10' class.

Hey everyone, Just thought I'd get on here and get a feel for everyone who is still waiting, or has heard recently from McCombs.

I applied 3/27
Interview invite 4/3
Interview 4/17

I know this is all really recently since I applied pretty late but I'm curious how quickly I can expect to hear anything. Once it's all in there you just want to hear.

Also what's the deal with Scholorships? How quickly after you hear about admission can you expect to hear anything about possible scholorship/waiver/etc?

Anyway, good luck to all of you still waiting to hear or sitting on that wait list. Hopefully many of us will run into eachother come August.
