Via random online status check. No email sent. I did everything I could within reason, I visiting the MAC, spoke directly to Vicki via email. But at the end of the day, I guess my $hit DOES stink.

Sorry to here about the ding. Weren't you already in for the Houston program? I wander if that had any bearing. 760 seems to be a dangerous number. One other poster 760 got WL then dinged.

did you feel there was any hint of annoyance from contacting them directly? I think in the wait-list email, they ask not to contact them directly. is this not the case anymore, in your opinion?

I did get into the McCombs Houston program, but I'm just not that convinced that it will really get me into the field I want (i-banking or top-tier management consulting), whereas the full-time program I know it can. I did contact the committee directly and I did say that I was turning down Houston for them - I was more than explicit that I wanted to go to the full-time program. I did get a personal response from one of the head honchos, saying that they were evaluating wait-listed folks in the coming weeks and thanking me for waiting..blah blah. It can be a yield issue someitmes, but for my case I think it was a variety of factors why I got turned down - probably my GPA was just too low for them this year, and adding me to the class would have pulled the average down too much. Pretty pissed, but oh well, what can you do?

@duderanch.
I'm Just curious. Did you list H/S/W/Columbia and Booth as other schools you applied to on your application? This may have thrown up a yield control red flag.

Naw...I didn't list any of the other schools that I applied to in my app, and I don't think I mentioned them in my interview as well. Perhaps my interview didn't go as well as I thought; after being waitlisted, I tried to contact my alumni interviewer and he never responded. Funny, I saw him while at the OTC the other day and thought about going up to him to chat, but decided against it..not like it would have mattered.

Got waitlisted...I checked my email this morning and got one from Texas telling me to check my status.

That's OK--I'm definitely going to UCLA!
