As a current Rice MBA student who was also admitted at UT, I recommend people to see past the USNews rankings. Rice overall is a better and more demanding program especially for the finance concentration. Houston IBanks are hiring more from Rice than UT in recent years.

I am sure Rice is a fine school but people are in this forum because they are interested in McCombs. If your intention was to persuade I hate to say, I don't think you struck the correct tone or made a persuasive argument.

I will now direct the conversation back to McCombs by saying congratulations to all the admits!

To all you folks who have been admitted, congratulations! What's the deadline on acceptance of the offer? Do we think it's dependent on interview date, or is there a "drop-dead" commit date that applies to everyone?

The acceptance deadline that I received is Feb 15. I think it may be based either on interview date or date you were accepted, but I am only speculating.

:)

Wish I could leave my job now, knowing I was accepted to at least one school. Too bad I have to work at least 5 or 6 months more.

I am so jealous... even though I haven't waited as long as you guys I am still fearing the postman today.... I hope the fact that I was pulling for Nebraska to pull off the upset (what can I say I love the underdog) doesn't hurt my application status

***Edit***

I accidentally reported my interview as 10/23 but it was 11/23

This wait is really starting to get unbearable. I haven't heard anything either way yet. It seems like most of the people who interviewed in early November have heard something.

I submitted Nov 15 and interviewed today. I was told that from this point I should have my decision in 6 weeks.

Of the people who have already been accepted did any of you receive scholarships or ask the admissions committee what the status of knowing that would be?

If I remember correctly, I think everyone is considered with the application.

When i spoke with the admissions committee on Friday she said that they hoped to get scholarship decisions to everyone that had been admitted in R1 by December 18th

Regarding scholarship decisions, I heard something similar from the admission director that I spoke with. I was suprised that they would notify us so early about scholarships. I think last year they didn't notify people until Jan or early Feb.
