been lurking for a while, but compelled to post on texasorbust's acceptance.

texasorbust, congrats on the acceptance! made me a little anxious though as I received a call from an unknown number on Monday - the call came through on my cell phone though and there's terrible reception in my office so the call dropped before I could hear anything. when you talked to the admission's office, did they mention they would be following up with a package or email of any sort in the near future? just concerned since I haven't received another phone call and I don't want to call the admissions office and ask "did you call me?" :) congrats again!

I have received an email from Texas with a bunch of general info. It says formal letters of admission won't be mailed until early January.

I got a bunch of different calls today from wierd area codes. Unfortunately, none of them were from McCombs. :x

Oh my god...

I just read on the forum about texasorbust's sweet victory (props btw). I left the computer for a few minutes and when I came back I saw an email waiting from my Youmail account - which sends voicemails to my ship's email account when I'm out to sea. I looked at the caller ID... University of TX AUST! It was a woman from the McCombs MBA program office asking me to call her back...

Problem is... I'm out to sea and can't call her back!! WTF?! We just left today!

We do have sat phones out here but they are only for emergencies. Luckily I managed to get on one but couldn't reach her. I left a voicemail explaining that I can receive emails and voicemails, but otherwise may not be able to contact her.

So nervous? Yeah... a little bit.

...they don't ding you over the phone do they??

Just got a call from "Unknown." Got a tad nervous and it was indeed an admissions officer from UT letting me know I had been selected for admission. Great feeling.

Don't worry, you are in. AdCom don't waste time calling people they ding.

Congratulations to everyone who got in. I did the campus interview today. I didn't feel very good about it. The interview only lasted for about 30 mins for both sides to ask questions. I was told that the interview would be about 20-30 mins, but the other two interviewees had theirs for more than an hour. Hopefully, it was not because I was a boring person. How about the interviews of you guys? Congratulations to everyone again!
