Hello everyone, I put in an application to Texas which was complete by 9/27 - no invitation invite, so of course I'm worried. My post-bachelors work experience (less than 1 year) is going to be a big hurdle, but I'm wrapping up a 6 year enlistment in the Navy and am hoping that the work experience I got there and the rest of my application can make up for it.

My profile:
GMAT: 710 Q48 V38
GPA: 3.4
Interest: Energy, Finance
Age: 25

Good luck to all applicants!

I wouldn't worry about it yet. My application went to under review on Monday and I received an interview invite on Thursday morning. I bet you will receive an invite early next week.

By saying your application went to "under review" are you referring to the verbiage on the application status check page? Last time I checked mine still said it had been forwarded to GMAC.

Sorry, by "under review", I meant that it said it had been forwarded to GMAC.

lol - yeah, that makes my situation seem much worse! It has been over a month now. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I don't think I'll hold my breath!

Sorry, I originally thought you said you submitted on October 27th. I misread.

I would still try not to worry too much about it.

No worries, two other schools have granted me interviews so I'm not depending on an invite from UT.

Now, this might be a very basic question. But, what I did not understand is - If McCombs is offering rolling admissions, whats the point in having the round 1 or round 2 deadlines on Nov 2nd / Jan?

I am applying for Fall 2010. Should be done with the submission in a week or so..
Had a school visit a few weeks back in Austin. I, in fact liked the school better than expected. As someone mentioned earlier, Austin would be a great place to spend the two years.

I think it's a good question. I am wondering the same thing myself. :?

I am sitting here trying to finish up essay #1 (900 words - what's up with that?) so I can get it in by tomorrow.

I am in a similar situation too.. trying to finish my essays..

But, looking at the rolling admissions - I'll probably take a bit more time so I can submit better essays.

Good luck for your application!

The good part about rolling admissions is the sooner you apply, the sooner you find out. But I agree that it is best to wait until your app is in its best possible state before submitting, rather than trying to rush things.

So, does everyone get an interview? I was reading businessweek and it said only 60% do, but then I was reading an article from an admission officer that said 100% of the pool gets interview (that article was posted in 3/08 in case things have changed since then). I thought not everyone gets one, but now I'm not sure.

I believe it is 100% of admitted applicants are interviewed, 50-60% of the total applicant pool sounds right from what I have read.

Alright, well you can add me to the list. My application was completed 10/29 and I got an interview invite 11/1. Still e-mailing the person I'm having the interview with, but it looks like it will be on 11/4.
