To my R2 friends,

Hang in there. There are plenty of folks who got admitted in the Early Action round who will decide not to enroll. Their deposits will be due on January 12th (prior to R2 decisions) and their slots will become open.

I truly think that R2 for Tuck should be just as competitive as R1 at most other schools.

Happy Holidays and I've got my fingers crossed for everyone.

In at Tuck. Got the call around 12:45 Central Time. The call showed up as anonymous on my cell phone. The 2nd time was a charm. Everyone who hasn't heard, keep the faith. It has taken me 8 applications over the past two years to one admit.

stretch08 --

Congrats!!! Can you please post your profile when you have a chance?

Also, I'm wondering, did you make it up to Hanover both years for interviews? How do they feel about re-applicants and interviews?

Profile:
Education - 28/M/3.6 GPA Undergrad w/3.8 GPA Grad (both degrees in engineering disciplines),
WE - VP at large financial institution
EC - Board of Directors @ Non-Profit & leadership role in community fund raising org.

I did interview both years in Hanover. I feel the Adcom looks very favorably upon re-interviewing. Getting into Tuck is as much about "fit" as it is "who you are" or "what you have done". Going to interview a second time was more about me showing my interest in the school, than it was about making a good impression on the interviewer (I actually think the interview I had the first year was better). There was at least one other person their the same day I was who was a re-app interviewer as well.

+1

Some eye popping figures:

Age Range: 23-43 (age 23 and yet 100% full time job exp...I am guessing they had early grads who finished college at age 19 or something....and what's with age 43 in the class?)

GMAT Range: 590 - 780 (590 GMAT????)

42% enrolled students came from consulting/financial services related industries..

I asked this Age question specifically in my feedback last year.

They categorically said that while revewing an application they DO NOT look at the age at any point.

You mean just like how they always say, "GMAT is just one aspect of one's application. We look at the application in whole to make our decisions...."

Submitted to R2 today via the Consortium. By far the coldest school I applied to. Good luck to all!

Stephen Colbert the fictional character (from the Colbert Report) went to Dartmouth. The real Colbert (the actor/comedian) went to Northwestern. The fictional character is much cooler - that's why he went to the cooler school (Dartmouth).
