Do universities notify via mail if they are no longer proceeding with your application? As in will tuck let us know even if we are not selected for an interview?

Just had my Tuck interview, it was fairly conversational and the interviewer was very friendly.
Questions -
- TMAY
- Why MBA
- STG and LTG
- Why consulting and not big tech
- Produest achievement
- Follow up on the same
- TMAT you disagreed with manager
- TMAT you helped someone
- What will your legacy at Tuck be
- Question on a community experience
- Any questions/ Something you would like me to know

She asked a lot of follow up questions to keep the conversation engaging before jumping to next questions and that’s why I think there were lesser behavioural questions. Lasted for odd 40 mins

Congratulations. Deadline was just 5 days ago, it's surprising that they have already started giving calls.

Hello, everyone!

If the interviewer asks to walk through the resume, normally how much time I must spend? Should I just talk about degree, titles and certificates or should I provide some details as well?

Secondly, is it recommended to share reflections after most of the stories or general story sharing is considered good enough?

A 2.5 min- 3 minute answer is usually good.
You should not focus only on titles and do not talk about certificates at all. You must briefly tell your journey - academic, professional and extra curricular. B-schools want to see that you were intentional in your choices and the path that you followed, so give some details without being too elaborate. Leave a few hooks about your biggest milestones/ achievements/ pivots that the interviewer may question you on, further in the interview.

For the behavioural questions, use the STAR approach and do add a reflection, a summary or a learning at the end, depending upon the question being asked or where the flow of your storytelling takes you. Its adds a neat end to the story and sums up the takeaway for the reader while showing how you process situations.

2-4 min
Agreed!
Keep in mind that most people can only take away three points so you don’t need to cover 15 different ideas and things either.

I’ve seen it done both ways including starting with your latest role - eg I am a product manager for company XYZ. I’m responsible for products A and B. Basically decide where you want to spend the most information and time because the first minute the two will be the most deciding and then you’re just glossing over things. So if your background and origin is an interesting story and you haven’t had a chance to tell then this is your opportunity or if your background is very boring or you would like to skip that, you can focus on your current role, especially true in case you had 5 jobs in the last 3 years type of thing. You can sort of generalize them after you talk about your current role.

There’s no wrong way to do it. And in case they are particularly interested in something, they’ll probably interrupt you and refocus you on that topic.
