Did anyone get an invite for a "special" campus visit opportunity? I am an R2 applicant that already interviewed on campus... Not quite sure why I was sent this, or if it went to everyone.

I got the invite too, and I interviewed last week. I assume it just went to their entire distribution list of prospective students.

My app status still says:

Submission Status: Submitted
Submitted Date: 1/6/2010 8:30:00 PM E.S.T.
Your application is complete for committee review.

What does that mean? They haven't even started reviewing it yet?

The status won't update further than that. You won't see any other status updates than that until the admissions decision is released.

does anyone know when the Admit Weekend (A-Days) will be held for R2 and R3 applicants? I'm guessing sometime in April, but haven't been able to find official word...

It seems that UCLA is less likely to waitlist or differ candidates (esp. from non-R1's) than some. Would you all agree?

Any thoughts on how truly grim prospects are at this point w/o an interview?

On behalf of those still awaiting interview invites, I would like to mention my disgust for the dry humping provided by the "Join us on campus for a special visit" e-mail. At least I have been numbed by Booth doing this to me every week with some bogus chat invite. These guys are heartless!!

MJ Shores posted on Twitter last week that there are a lot of invites expected to go out this week... I wouldn't panic yet.

You might still have time - but not much. I got an email from the adcom yesterday b/c they thought I hadn't yet interviewed (I actually had interviewed a couple weeks ago, and my interviewer confirmed that he has submitted my feedback). In any case, the adcom indicated that they need an interview and submitted writeup by next week, latest. All this is to say that, although this is pure speculation on my part, if you haven't received an interview invite by next week I think your chances are pretty slim.

Again, pure speculation. Good luck all!

Guys,

I got an Anderson interview invite and I was told they will get back within two business days to schedule my interview. It has been a bit more than two days. Should I buzz them or wait for their mail?

I believe that this is based on the fact that you are supposed to complete your interview within a few week timeframe of when you received the invite. I don't think this has anything to do with the fact that interview invites are not being given out for much longer.

Anyone have a rough idea what % of those that interview get admitted?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Roger

I heard half (from a couple of Anderson alumni). In fact, they tell me that roughly half of the applicants get an interview and another half of that get admitted. That makes sense since their acceptance rate is in the low to mid 20% range.

Anyone admitted in Round 1 feel like they didn't have the best interview?

My interviewer and I never really clicked - the first 20 mins or so was good, a bit cut and dry. Then I got a little repetitive on my leadership example story as we got close to the end, stumbled a bit.

Lastly, my interviewer took my question about job placement and how the clubs/Parker center have helped him prep. He got really anxious since he hadn't found a job yet, and his visa was expiring in 5 months. He then went on a little about how tough it was to find a job through the Parker career center.

I tried to lighten up the mood by asking about Challenge for Charity. Every alumni I've met has had something fun to say regarding the event...but he didn't attend :?

(anyone in Round 2 who wants to chime in, please do too)
