Or they could not have been pleased with the volume of applicants. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't consider the rumors of R3 being tougher as just a rumor, at least at other schools. I have specifically heard adcoms say your chances will be lower just because there are less spots left (all allocated by then).

That said, it does seem that Anderson emphasizes R3 moreso than other schools, and thus it may be true that you have just as good as a shot in R3. Could be a school-specific thing.

For what it's worth, one of the alums at the info presentation I went to back in October said his one best piece of advice was to apply in R1 or R2 as it has a much better chance than R3. I would suspect that their push for R3 applications might be a reaction to app volume from R1/R2.

No way to know for sure, I guess... but if I was looking for R3 options and hadn't already applied to Anderson, I'd definitely be doing it now. Bottom line seems to be that there is no disadvantage for R3 this year, regardless of the past.

The application volume was underwhelming and they want to boost their volume to improve their selectivity metrics for ranking purposes?

It seems like anderson is making a big push to get more r3 applicants, i'm thinking about throwing my hat in the ring, though concerned about how many slots are left.

anyone else considering r3?

I am definitely applying R3. I actually really like Anderson and visited back in Oct, but had to make some tough choices R2 because I couldn't possibly make all the deadlines. Sounds like I might have chosen the right school to apply R3!

as far as A-Days go, how are you non-local R2ers planning for that? It appears that the second A-Days will take place April 10-11, which as you know, is 10 days after notification day.

are you guys who are confident/hopeful about admission planning to make the trip now, or should i just wait for the big news and scramble for a $$ flight that week? or just visiting another, later weekend?

ugh, with all this waiting, it's the little things now...:D

Less volume = fewer quality candidates. I highly doubt that they would solict more applications for ranking purposes. They just strive to have the most accomplished student body they can. Perfectly reasonable IMHO.

Bummer about A-Days, its the same weekend as Ross' GBR.

Isn't that bad for Rd2 applicants that haven't heard yet about interviews?

I'm considering applying just because of their push for R3.

The only USA schools I've applied to are ND and HBS.

The Entertainment Business Management sound pretty cool, but their referee questionnaire looks like hell! I'm a little nervous about asking my referees to fill out yet another one of these after they just did six since January and there's only three weeks left until the deadline. Especially if R3 applications are a dead-zone! I don't wanna apply just to bring their application stats up and piss away 200 bucks on the application.

Profile: M/23/Canada/3 Years W.E in Marketing Communications/690 Gmat/3.9 GPA/BA in Communications/College Diploma in TV Producing

Any suggestions or advice?

Means nothing! Be proud and excited and congrats!

Interviews are handed out in random fashion typically.

ksmit--if you are having trouble actually scheduling it, I called the admissions office a few minutes ago and they said that more spots next week would be added this afternoon.

Btw...the message on applyyourself for UCLA's application changes (from just saying "Your application is complete for committee review") once you receive an interview or your application is reviewed and you are declined an interview.

A well crafted hunch but who really knows.

Even without interview invites, you can still be placed on the waitlist.

Best of luck!

Did anyone attend the special visit yesterday? How did it go?

I had signed up but bowed out at the very last minute due to work obligations.
