OK, I’m a computer engineer from pune university 2018 pass out with First Class. I have one MBA (1 year) from UK. Currently working in investment banking. Currently working on my work experience. My first MBA was merely an academic exercise and international exposure. Since it got affected due to Covid and it’s not from any Ivy League university so doesn’t carry value in India.
Hi
kriya12 , there are several aspects to evaluating an applicant's profile for top global B Schools, primarily
a. academic inclination
b. leadership experience and prior work experience
c. diversity and inclusion
d. ability to contribute
You would have to make sure you have a solid narrative that covers all these aspects impressively in your MBA application. One thing that makes UCLA application challenging is that the essays are brief and you have to make a compelling case for yourself in few words for such a competitive program. I suggest that you take professional help to be able to execute the application seamlessly.
As far as your particular story goes, I have certain reservations about Ivy Leagues accepting your case for a 2nd International MBA so soon after the 1st one. You must try not to come across as someone who has not put much thought behind the decisions taken, and are now looking for another route to escape your situation. You must showcase your leadership capabilities through examples of a stellar career progression in your brief professional career. Some very impactful examples of community work and diversity initiatives in India or during your MBA can make a good impression. You GMAT score is decent, however, your target B Schools have become exceptionally competitive for the Indian demographic. Focus on your uniqueness to improve the odds.
