My Status says that "Your Application is complete for Committee Review"

Don't they usually send e-mails when your status changes?? I didn't get one from UCLA or Chicago. I guess it is good that I am a bit obsessive and check the app everyday

Oops... my status says my app is incomplete. Did we have to submit a financial statement during the application process?

Confidential Financial Statement: Not Received

Unbelievable: Applicants educated in countries such as India, Pakistan or Singapore are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS for admission.

Any Indian applicants out there? Have you taken the TOEFL?

I am an Indian and I did give the TOEFL it is necessary for all applicants who are applying from countries where the first language is not English.

You need to fill out the Confidential financial statement if you are an international student and ONLY AFTER you have been accepted to the program. They need that statement in order to process your I-20 (the document you need to get a student visa to the USA).

Ok. So I guess the only reason my app is incomplete is because of the TOEFL score. Unfortunately I do have a score but its just over 2 yrs old and strangely no other school I applied to mandates the TOEFL score. I ll check with the school if I can give it in 2 weeks and send it to them. Thanks.

Did you go to undergrad at a school that taught in English? If so most schools will waive the TOEFL requirement.

Exactly I did and I have been waived by all other schools. So, now I have to take the TOEFL to complete the app for UCLA. The TOEFL requirement by country is hard to comprehend given that there have been so many applicants from India over the last decade or so.

I just spoke to the admissions office. I am not eligible for Round 2 because of no TOEFL score and I have to go Round 3, which it makes it all the more tougher. That 1 school down 99% now. Unbelievable, I could never imagine that TOEFL would come in the way. By the way the TOEFL policy at Anderson is decided by UCLA and so any applicant from India MUST give a TOEFL. I am so infuriated with myself now for not having read every line of the application instructions!!! aaaargh!!!

Do they send an email if we are shortlisted for the interview or do we need to check the status online?

Applications are reviewed in random order, not necessarily in the order in which they were received.

hmm, interesting. If you look at the two ppl who got interviews all have usernames starts with letter "a". Perhaps, they sent out invi in alphabetical order?

Count me in for R2. I submitted my app in late Dec.

Did you work in an English-speaking country for over 3 yrs? If you do, that might help.

@jchen yes I have been working in the US for more than 3 years. Do you think I should call admissions again and give it a shot?

Are there any current students on this forum who may have advise coz TOEFL seems too small a pointer for me to miss out on R2?
