As I was flipping through brochures from various MBA events, it caught my eye that UNC Premier Fellowship (full-tuition with or without stipend) will be awarded to approximately 10% of incoming class and that participants will be notified and invited in early January! What does that mean? That only EA admitted people can get it? Or R1 people still waiting for Feb-8 admission decision will get notified too? Does anyone know something more about this?

It's "starting" in early January. People applying in rounds 1 & 2 are also eligible, although I'd imagine some of the $$$ will have been handed out in earlier rounds.

OK, it makes sense. So, people admitted in EA should be hearing (or not) about the money.

Hi guys,

Just got my interview invite (R2 applicant) :) Was surprised to get it. I thought they sent out all invites already. Whew! I guess Adcom does mean it when they say they'll send out invites until the day before decision date. I just hope the late invite is not representative of my admit chances.

I'm opting for phone interview since I'm international and there's no alum available in my country.
Anyone here with insights on phone interviews? Who interviewed you? What are the pros/cons of a phone interview?

Thanks :)

I had my interview this morning with Buck Williams. I felt it was rather rushed, and was cut off several times while trying to expand on my experience. It clocked in slightly under 30 minutes.

Hopefully it went better than I felt it did, I guess I'll find out in three weeks...

It was very staightforward, he didn't ask me any tough questions like I was expecting. He started off by walking through my resume, asking about my community service and then asking about my job experience. Most of the questions were tailored to my resume, but here's the ones I remember:

Tell me about your community service experience.
Why Kenan-Flagler (I went there undergrad, so that was an easy one :-D )
What do you want to do post-MBA?
What kind of extra-curriculars do you want to participate in while at KF?
Do you read? What books, etc?
What do you think your strongest attributes are?

Like I said, I felt the interview was very short and he did not ask any follow up questions; overall it was a relaxed interview but I wish it could have given me a little better opportunity to expand on my experiences. I hope this helps.

I'm in Atlanta, so there's a pretty good chance it was me!

I guess there are more of us in Atlanta. :)

Have you heard back from Emory? How about UNC? I have an interview with them next week.

I ended up not applying to Emory, and my app was pushed back to Rd. 1 at UNC (waitlisted, I had applied early action). Anxiously awaiting February 8th.

I see that you're applying to UNC and UVA.

Good luck with both! Maybe we can both join the KFBS for 2010.

Could you share your experience during the interview?

Thanks,

How did your recommenders submit their letters of recommendation? Supposedly my recommenders never received an email with login details even though I added them a while ago. What are the options to send in a LOR?
