Hi all,

I read in an adcom interview from a couple years back that Marshall has "used strong active alumni recommendations in place of an on-campus interview." Does anyone know if this is still done?

Thanks for your help!

I guess it's an indicator of the internal management at Marshall. I got the impression that the school is not as well managed as others.
e.g. I have searched the graduate marketing association at marshall and found the website is down. Their twitter account? Their last twitte was in 2010.
I really like the school and LA. Hoping that someone can chime in and prove my impression was wrong.

I have the same worries...a lot of the feedback I've gotten from students (especially in regards to career services) has been less than stellar.

I really have not gotten this impression through my experiences with USC. Can you please elaborate or provide more meat on those stories? I am interested to see what other fumbles, other than just administrative stuff like websites and twitters you notice or have heard are amiss. Of particular interest is the career center, for obvious reasons, lol!

All of the Marshall Student Club websites were moved to a new domain last year - https://marshall.campusgroups.com The GMA webpage could be found at https://marshall.campusgroups.com/gma/about/ Our MBA website is also brand new and we are still working on getting it optimized.

I haven't heard anything about round three yet. I'm not expecting to hear anything until the middle of April though. Interview invitations for round three aren't scheduled to be done until April 15.

if you look at 2010 and 2011 gmatclub forums for marshall, it looks like in 2010 R2 results were sent out starting on the 30th and in 2011 they came out on the 28th.

Maybe they have fewer applicants this year? I just read an article about how there has been a decline in applicants (due to recession) and they had to raise admission rates (22% in 2010 to 27% in 2011).

SuitUp, thanks a lot for chiming in. This is a big relief for my concerns.

I wouldn't worry too much about waiting by the phone... I didn't get a phone call before my status changed on ApplyYourself in round 1. I did get a phone call later in the day, however.

In off the wait list!

For everyone else waiting, I was rd 1, but on the rd 1 decision day I was wait listed AND given an interview invitation.

If any other admits want to meet up in NYC before we go out there, send me a message.
