There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Nothing here. Just plugging away at those sporadic updates. I keep speculating and internally justifying reasons they might be reaching out soon (eg. the waitlist committee meeting last week, peer school decision letters going out late last month, round 3 deadlines this week), but the fact remains that they probably have little incentive to reach into the waitlist until they've sifted through all their regular decision applicants, absent a special situation. With a regular decision deadline of April 15, my uneducated guess is that they'll be maintaing optionality until at least mid-May.
I might be the only person still left in this thread, but for the reference of future waitlisters, I was admitted off of the waitlist yesterday after a nearly four month wait! I did pretty much everything that all the waitlist blogs recommend and, though it took a couple months, apparently it paid off. Timeline below:
