I second the advice on letters of support. I did it last year, and I failed (could be because of that). This year, I got the advice from a couple of alumni and current students, and I continue share it with others. Don't send Wharton anything between application submission and final decision time.

What are everyone's thoughts on Professor Support Letters if you have engaged w/ Faculty from Wharton. Is that also viewed in negative light?

I had a project with Wharton Faculty tied to my work last year as well. I asked them and they said they had no pull with admissions whatsoever. I doubt another professor would agree to speak on behalf of an applicant either.

You can ask on the S2S forum, but I doubt it would be seen as successful tactic . How well could that professor know you? Also if admissions OK's that, they would be sending a green light to the rest of the applicants to harass professors and waste their valuable time (which costs both the school and its current students). Show that you have confidence in your current application as is and don't ask for additional letters of support.

Thanks, MBAgirl2010. If you don't mind me asking, this year and last, were you waitlisted after an interview or pre-interview?

As far as I know, Wharton waitlists candidates only after an interview. That has been my experience as well.

That happened at some point in the first round too. It happened for everyone simultaneously and didn't indicate anything about whether or not people got in (no need for random speculation about this one)

Just curious - where are you guys seeing the change? Once I log onto the online application system, I don't see anything different. I'm wondering if there is a whole personalized part of the Wharton website I'm not aware of.

The picture change happened on 12/17 somewhere between 5pm and 9:15pm, when decisions were posted. The picture did change for everyone, so there is nothing to read into here, apart from a likely attempt by Wharton to iron out the kinks from R1 decision day. On 3/24 there will likely be changes to the myWharton page that clue you in to your decision, but try not to get carried away refreshing the page all day. 12/17 was a very unsettling day for a lot of R1 applicants and I hope R2 involves much less anxiety.

they're talking about the myWharton MBA page- go to Wharton's website, there's a tab at the top that says myWharton MBA. You can log in with the same info as your online application.

From previous experience, between now and 3/24 if they don't fix My Wharton, there are two things you need to look for on that page (usually you won't see these until a couple of hours before announcement time).

1. If you see a fourth box on the side of the page talking about Tuition Deposit - good news are on the way.
2. If you see JJ Cutler's photo next to text talking about Fit - bad news (it means a ding or a Waitlist).

Anything else, is just regular maintenance on that site.

Hi all,
I had an interview with an alumni last Thursday (3/3) before the interview deadline. The interview went really well (or so i thought) the interviewer was engaging and very easy going. He gave me the 3 questions and then any questions for him. The unsettling thing for me is that he did not ask why wharton, why mba, why now. I dont know if is a good sign or not.. i tried to put out my interests in the program, which specific course/ clubs/ activities i would want to join if i were to be admitted. Did anyone have the same experience?

Does anyone know what the interviewers are meant to submit to the adcom? I understand there are 3 boxes for the answers of the 3 behavioural questions. Is that all? Do they have why wharton, why mba boxes to fill too?

Ahhh i am so nervous. i just want to know the results already!!!
Good luck to everyone out there :))

My interviewer (alum ny) also didn't ask any of those questions, she just went right through the three questions and then asked if I had any other questions, and then made conversation about what other schools I was applying to.... She replied to my thank you email saying keep in touch so seems it went well!

My interviewer replied to my thank you email and said hope to hear good news from you soon. BUT what i learned is that interview is just part of the process. If anything, this will just keep my hopes high. But hopefully it really would be good news. Fingers crossed for both of us! a 7-day wait is far too long!
