Due to the nature and complexity associated with the admissions process there is no particular order in which invitations are released. I did not get an invite today. I'm a re-applicant after interviewing round 2 last year and getting WLd. My feeling is that maybe re-applicants - because they want to re-review last year's apps - will be invited next week. In addition, Wharton may have targeted fields like IB, PE, consulting first since they will comprise majority of the class (I'm in biotech/pharma industry). Who knows.

Let's hope that you're right - I hear your logic, but that tiny tinge of insecurity/fear is telling me that I am passed up. I as well am a re-applicant, who was waitlisted from Rd2 last year. I think so is MBAgirl2010. I am hoping since none (sample size of 3) of us got an invitation - you may be right in that.

I definitely think my application is stronger this year, but then again, my application may have been read up by different people.

my boyfriend who is an entrepreneur got an invite today, but i didn't - i work in an investment bank. I know someone else who works with me who got an invite too, so i don't think it's sent out by industry or profession.

i am hoping there is another wave later today.. didn't someone mention there were multiple notifications for invites on the same day last year?

I know we all have our theories on invites, but the overwhelming majority of evidence usually points to it being random. It will be a harder day next Friday since we'll know we're done for sure if we don't get an invite!

Hi everyone. I received my invitation at 4:05pm. I am a reapplicant who was also invited to interview last year and was then dinged (no waitlist). I submitted my app at exactly 3:53 pm on the deadline date (Oct 4) and I work in Healthcare - so it's not going according to industry, date of submission or reapplicant status - just whenever they get around to reading the app. hope that makes everyone feel a little more at ease though speculating is natural since i would've been doing the same. good luck!!

Did anybody who is a former banker that then transferred to a PE firm within the oil and gas industry (middle market, not bulge bracket) but only worked for 1 year instead of the customary 2, and attended a west coast public university with a degree in engineering get one? i think they would review anyone with such a profile last because it it makes the most sense if you sit down and think about it.
