A couple things...do we have any clue if people will actually be admitted off the waitlist before March 24th and if we think that the % will be much higher this year since they seem to no way have admitted the 50% of interviewees from R1?
Yeah, thanks for starting the thread! It's a long wait... Esp when I have another school's deposit deadline before the 24th... I guess I still have some time to think about it!
My feeling is that we might hear something after deadline for R1 deposit (Feb 16) and then again on March 24. But this is something I "think" they might do...who knows what they're thinking/planning.
I'm not holding out for an acceptance off the waitlist, especially given the large number of in the pool. I mean I'm hoping to get in, but I'm applying full force R2.
Same here. I would just love to know how many people they admitted in R1. Are they truly just looking at the WL's as R2 applicants at this point? There is no way they admitted 400-450.
Any thoughts on how you plan to play it with other schools? I was accepted to Booth and Kellogg but Wharton was my top choice. My thought now is to choose between Booth and Kellogg (right now I'm leaning towards Booth) and look at the deposit as downside option protection if I don't get off the WL at Wharton. Curious to know others' thoughts and what the gameplan is for those accepted to other schools in R1.
I like this thread already - less cluttered by those 'admitted' kids and their celebrations. On waitlists at two places already; if I can get one more, I'll have a round 1 hat trick
I am putting down a deposit to the other school end of Feb. It is only $1500 for me...and if I have to lose it to go to Wharton...I am cool with that. What is a measly $1500 when I am probably looking at a giant loan regardless? Think of it as an investment.
Thanks. Has anyone called the admissions office to ask about the waitlist and try to gain any additional information? Also are people e-mailing the waitlist manager to express continued interest as advised in the below poets & quants post?

Personally, I hope E-mails about withdraw from the WL will bombard the school, to remind them they are loosing the very best WLers from the waitlist (what a hemorrhage!). So they will make up their mind sooner than the deposit deadline. I am just fantasizing....
