I plan to apply in R2, but just wanna ask about the recommendation. If I only submit 2 recommendations will it affect my candidacy, coz they say the 3rd one is optional? Thanks!

I submitted only two with my application, but Wharton alum(s) sent in an unsolicited rec on my behalf. Not sure if this helps, but it probably can't hurt.

When you all log into your accounts and review your events, does it still show your interview status as "registered"?

Perhaps alumni interviews have a different status than those conducted on campus.

How lax is Wharton about receiving recommendations after the deadline?

To take my example, my whole application was 1 week late - I kinda screwed up the transcript process :-D They gave me an earful, but did accept my candidacy (thank god). So I think that if you call them and make them aware of your issues, they'll be ok, especially for something not under your control. But do call them to let them know.

the "Your application decision is available online now" link has disappeared from my online app.

Did someone else observe the same?

well i just checked and mine disappeared as well. I guess this is a sign they are working at the final decisions. I can imagine the admitted/rejected links are going to be placed instead ,hopefully in a week.

You guys had decision links within your online application? I just logged in two hours ago and only saw the "invitation to interview" listed there, but didn't see a link to a decision in its place. Perhaps this means they aren't updating my application as they are yours? An early indication of a ding/WL?

I had the link previously which has now disappeared. You probably had the same but didn't notice it before. No need to panic.

don't freak out. it is not like that. when I was invited to the interview i had a link at the bottom of the page and if I would click on it, a different page would come up and it would just say you have been invited to interview. so I am sure you had it too, its standard to all of those who interview from what I can tell, you just did not notice it.

This reminds me of the first season of Survivor when some guy started clicking on each castmembers profile photos on the Survivor website and saw that only 1 out of the 14 didnt have an 'X' on it, and everyone thought he was going to be the winner.
