1.5 more days... are people deluding themselves by thinking that there are still 30%-50% of invites to be sent (according to BW forum)? or it's pretty much done... left the lucky few that might as well try their luck with the lottery ticket too!

Saw some re-applicant on BW mention that mid-decision day is for dings only; all invites would be sent by the end of today. Not sure how credible that is, though.

If it is true, then that's a real shot to the gut, especially given how semi-liberal Wharton seems with invites and some of the profiles I've seen. I must've just completely boofed the essays, yet not done so for HBS and Chicago...cool.

Anyone else have hope for a random invite today or tomorrow?

Ha - I'll take one. I thought I put together a pretty good set of essays, but oh well. Chicago interview tomorrow. Will report on that thread when it's completed.

For the 3rd Wharton essay " Describe a failure that you have experienced. What role did you play, and what did you learn about yourself? "
does it have to be a team failure or can an individual failure work? Also will failure in an exam make a good subject?

The essay question doesn't narrow failure options to team or individual so you are free to choose. The question asks about the one failure where you played a role (so this should be something for which you take actual responsibility) and you learned something about yourself. I think the key here is the learning part - in this essay you must show how you learn from your mistakes and if you grow as a result of them.

It seems there have been some random invitations since the usual morning set (something I hadn't seen reported in any previous day). I haven't seen anything yet, though.

I haven't heard from Wharton yet. This kindof depresses me but it also gives me food for thought with regards to applications for other schools which I want to apply to. I visited Wharton last week and loved it. To the person who wants some hints, I would try to meet as many people as you can. People are really cool and are more than happy to answer questions. Perhaps they can give you ideas as to how to put together an awesome application package. For me, that is something I wish I had done before I had submitted my application.

Got an invite this morning (was cutting it a bit close there).

My profile: 2010-profiles-w-admit-dings-results-no-discussion-78475.html?view-post=598045#p598045

The on-campus slot I registered for was one and a half hours long (it was the only open slot for the day I wanted, for seemingly good reason). I registered it anyway. On emailing Wharton, I found that it was a typo, it's a regular 1/2 hour slot (drat).
