Do you people know how and when they contact admitted students?

i heard they call and send email, by geography. Is it true? What time should people expect calls/emails?

and good luck to all!

For non US based students, it will most likely be an email

Does Wharton need the official GMAT scores from GMAC? I saw this on its website: "GMAT:
All applicants must submit results of a Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) that are no more than 5 years old, based on the date the application is received. Scores may be self-reported."

I believe they will eventually ask for them upon acceptance..

They will ask for the offcial GMAT results as part of the verification process, but only after you get admitted.

Is it true for Lauder applicants (which has fewer applicants), they interview every candidate?

The coursework that students do at Lauder is in addition to the MBA coursework; likewise, the abilities needed to interview with the Lauder program (let alone get in) have to be added to those needed for the MBA program. I am only a prospective student, but that is how Wharton presents it and the only way that makes sense to me.

Although it is ~1230pm central, I have semi-given up on Booth and started some research for Wharton Rd 2.

I have heard from an applicant that he applied to Wharton last year in Rd 2 and the only feed back he got after an int invite, waitlist and eventual denial was “you should have applied to Rd 1.”

On the other hand, I have spoke to other people who say that Rd 1 and Rd 2 are as competitive as each other.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Lol thanks (i guess?), but the rest of the package is not as strong. Indian engineer with average grades, not so good interview, mediocre ECs, and at least one rec was only so-so. In my head I know there are too many reasons that I would not be accepted. In my heart I keep hoping they will ignore them :)

A lot of people here have invites/interviews from H and S besides W, and I do not. I can't help thinking that they must have a much better profile and story, and that is what makes me think I am not as competitive.

I have not been able to even START my round 2 apps because I am so fixated on W :)
Oh well. Only 3 more days to find out.

(adding via edit) P.S. Sandy says Wharton invites a LOT more people to interview, many of which don't even have a shot. He says they just do it year after year to keep alums etc engaged. Thats another reason I feel like an interview at Wharton is not enough of a reason to get excited.

I believe Sandy said that the dead meat cohort, as he called him, was something that happened in the past...

I was told by a second year student during my on-campus interview that only 30% of the applicants were invited to interview this year. So I wouldn't lose hope just yet. Looks like a 50-50 shot for all of us.

Yes, but 30% of how many apps? If the R1 volume is way up this year (as some on BW were predicting) then 50-50 doesn't hold.

I need to stop stressing and stop browsing these forums lol!

My interviewee told me (in a clear lapse of professionalism) that Wharton invited far fewer candidates than previous years, for what its worth.
