As an Indian who owns a business in America, I can tell a few things that you might need to know is that there are constraints within the visa and the kinds of people who can really start a business need a heavy sunk cost. The work around this is extremely difficult and you’ll be in a powerless state. Very limited grant money available, investor visa requires a heavy investment, which let’s face it if you had, you’d not need an MBA.

Starting a business without all those issues is a difficult task- imagine all those things piled on top of that.

Not to forget you’ve to deal with a whole lot of crap from entitled people who have the following attitude - "How dare you refuse to accept my services? Now I’m gonna do everything in my power to hurt your business" (Imagine saying "No" to a PR group and suddenly the next day negative publicity starts).

Those get exponentially high as a foreigner especially in states that are less welcoming.

Those are merely the problems but there are solutions to those too. Quite honestly if you can get those solutions (which are extremely expensive), you don’t need an MBA. Just go and start. Investor visa programs are still available with a direct near green card benefits. Having a protection infrastructure that can avoid those kinds of liabilities itself is expensive

Yes, Wharton accepts the home-based GRE and considers it equally valid as the GRE taken at a test center. There is no disadvantage or negative bias against the home version, as long as the score is reported officially and meets the testing security protocols set by ETS. In fact, post-COVID, almost all top B-schools including Wharton, Stanford, HBS, and INSEAD — have explicitly stated that they accept either version with equal weight.
That said, one thing to be cautious about is test environment control. If you're giving the test from home, make sure you have a reliable internet connection, a quiet and private room, and you follow the ProctorU guidelines strictly any technical disruption or flagged behavior can impact your result or even void your score.
If Wharton is one of your top choices and you're working toward a competitive GRE score, we’d be happy to help you evaluate where you stand holistically not just in terms of scores, but also how to frame your profile given the broader admissions criteria. At Admit Scholar, we work closely with applicants to top programs like Wharton, often starting right from test strategy to final applications.

I have a question- are home based GRE tests considered at par with center tests, while applying to Wharton?

Regardless of what one school states on their portal, IMHO, you should avoid the online format. Stick to the in-centre exam.
