Yeah that site is unclear. From the admitted students page they have this (without any mention of laptop "purchase"):
Laptops play an integral role in the Yale MBA curriculum. All Yale SOM students receive a standard- issue laptop computer upon arrival at Orientation.
I guess we will find out soon enough. They will probably send us more info once we send in our deposits. (speaking of which, I should do that + file taxes + FAFSA)

Also, did you see this map (
https://docs.google.com/Presentation?id= ... _4chsd9j9r) some student posted about where it's "safe" to live in New Haven? He says to stay within the blue lines. While I intend to live within the lines just for proximity to campus, I sure hope he's being super-cautious. It would be pretty ridiculous if it's considered "unsafe" outside of that region. That's like 1 square mile.
I can't see the Google Doc. Can you turn it into PDF or upload it here as text file? Also, I found this in the Yale SOM forum.
https://som-talks.som.yale.edu/forums/sh ... .php?p=613There is a discrepancy between the info there and other Yale IT support sites. I guess the info might be outdated. The forum says DELL laptop while the IT site has numbers for Lenovo. I guess, they switched to Lenovo?
Also, according to Yale SOM website:
Quote:
All students are required to own a laptop computer. U.S. citizens and permanent residents who need to borrow funds to purchase a laptop or upgrade existing equipment to meet the required specifications may be eligible for a one-time budget adjustment of up to $2,000 in the first year.
I am pretty sure its like every other school. You can either buy from school or buy your own.
