Nink - are you sure we'll be getting a standard laptop upon going to orientation? I was actually looking forward to getting a new laptop of my choice. That really blows. I was talking to one of the adcoms during the admit weekend and he said he wasn't sure about whether the standard laptop was for this year or next.
That's what they told me the last time I asked. I am sure they will update us before the orientation in August.
However, I already bought me a lighter, more mobile laptop regardless of Yale laptop. I can't carry a laptop that's more than 4 lbs around all day long.
Agreed I was planning on selling my current laptop and getting one of the light sony vio's. If Yale "gives" us a laptop, I'll sell it and put it towards the SP laptop fund.
