dinged. i will wait for cbs/mit to show some love. might apply for jan2010 @ insead..hmm congrats to admits, i envy your achievement! good luck to WL-ed ppl, the mess continues for us
Is that a historically higher number than in the past? I wonder if that means they are holding out for R3 applicants to tweak the class, or if there was a big change in what they expected from R2 based on what they saw in R1.
I haven't gotten the email yet either. I asked on the phone yesterday when we would be getting our admit packages and he said that they were already sent out (Monday, he might've said). He said they were coming by courier so I should be getting it in the next day or two.

Has anyone who's been admitted gotten the email they told us about on the phone with login info to the admit website? I got nothing so far.
Also, when do we get the admit package in the mail (I assume there is one, right?)?

I got the log-in infor a day after the decision date. Your admit package should be arriving soon too. (I think I got it like 2 days after the decision date, and I live pretty far from the States!)
I'm with Maverick on this one. I really don't have the patience to deal with the uncertainity of a WL when I can easily head over to the other great school up north....makes the decision rather easy.

Well great, make sure you tell booth that asap so they can get to me on the list!
I also got the call yesterday and have been admitted.
One question, do we find out about merit based scolarships later on or would that have been at the same time....
I also applied to NYU (RD 2) and had the interview there a day ago and Columbia (rd 3) still waiting to hear back from them. Chicago was my #1.
Thanks

I think there are merit based scholarships offered at the time of admission and other merit based scholarships for which you will have to apply. I was told about my merit scholarship on the phone yesterday.
For those of you who got waitlisted, dont give up!
Look back at your weaknesses and try to improve them. Write waitlist letters to remind them you're there, you're growing (professionally and outside) and tell them that you are excited to go to Booth. Get additional letters of recommendations. Visit the school if possible.
Congrats to all the admits...especially the guys off the WL (extra sweet after that longer wait). Glad to see the gmatclub dominance of the windy city continues. Best of luck to the future students with figuring out the next steps: Financial aid, finding a place, and figuring out the move.
Just a quick note - got admitted yeaterday (around 11 o'clock Chicago time).
I am an international, waitlisted from r1.
To be honest I had already given up hope - now I need to decide between two fantastic (neighbouring) schools...
Congratulations to all the admitted students and for those still waiting - don't give up hope!
Hey Gil, wouldn't you like to take courses by schrager and meadow?? I know you would !

I actually sat in on Meadow's class while visiting. I was fascinated - the guy is amazing. I almost wish I didn't get into either school so I wouldn't have to deal with this dilemma. It will come down to personal fit (unless a scholarship is offered). I will be doing serious research/nagging current students over the weekend:)

You did? Did we meet? I was in it this past quarter.
I sat in the back because I didn't know anyone. I also had to leave in the middle because my wife wasn't feeling well.
The class was about a chain of dollar stores which if I understand correctly Prof. Meadow actually invested in at a certain point. I remember he opened the class by asking the groups to describe the type of valuation they gave the company and the type of stock they would require. He also mentioned that class was much better that day because someone who was absent the week before bothered to show up:)
