Did you not get the email from Rose, that upto 2 weeks after deadline, they will accept recommendations?
So, yes, it is perfectly alright for the rec to be late. Of course I told my recommenders a couple of days late is ok (not weeks)
Greetings from Chicago GSB! With our first round application deadline less than a week away -- Wednesday, October 15th - we know that many of you are hard at work putting the finishing touches on your application. In light of this, I want to remind you that my staff and I are here to help in any way we can should you have questions of any kind. Beyond contacting us directly, I am attaching some information that might also be helpful to you:
1. Getting an insider's perspective on the evaluation process may be helpful, so please take a minute to review the tips in this month's GSB Newsletter as well as some of my most recent blog entries.
2. Recommendation letters are accepted up to two full weeks after the deadline. If your recommender needs a few extra days to put the final touches on your letter -- that is fine, and will not adversely affect your round 1 application submission.
3. If you are planning to retake the GMAT and still want to apply in round one, please let us know the date of your new test in the optional essay. If we do not receive your updated score within a month after the deadline we will use the score you applied with or hold your application for evaluation in a subsequent round.
Good luck and let us know how we can help.
Warm regards, Rose
