Describe your personal and professional goals and the role an MBA from the University of Chicago GSB plays in your plans to reach these goals. (1,500 word maximum) Our general guidelines for the standard career goals essay apply to this document, but the above-average length and the nature of Chicago’s other questions add another strategic consideration. While the second and third essays certainly provide ample opportunity to share information about oneself, there really isn’t much room for narrative. This is a distinct contrast from schools like Stanford and MIT, which ask applicants to recount the details of their actions in several specific kinds of situations across the application essays. With this in mind, Chicago applicants might want to use a portion of their 1500 words in this essay to briefly share the details of some professional achievements and significant experiences. Essay 2: If you could step into someone else’s shoes for a day, who would it be and why? (500 word maximum) The most common trap that applicants fall into when answering this question is writing more about the person whose shoes he or she would choose to occupy than about the reasons for this selection and the way it fits into his or her candidacy. While this can be a fun question with an answer that is sure to be telling, it’s important not to lose sight of what should be the main objective of one’s application: sharing impressive information about oneself that is relevant to one’s business school candidacy. Selecting a prominent figure whose work is in line with one’s professional goals or favorite hobby can be a great strategy for producing an interesting essay that allows for detail about the applicant’s background as well. Essay 3: We have asked for a great deal of information throughout this application. In this portion of the application, we invite you tell us about yourself using a non-traditional application format–a PowerPoint presentation. In four slides or less, please provide readers with content that captures who you are. This approach isn’t exactly revolutionary - Stern’s usual Essay 3 asks for a personal expression that gives candidates complete freedom with content and medium (except for the exclusion of edible/perishable personal expressions) - but it does speak to Chicago’s interest in a candidate’s interests and personality. While all this “white space” might be daunting to some, an easy way to approach this process is to ask oneself a few simple questions. Are there four personal themes to which you would like to devote a slide each? Would you prefer to use the four frames to create a sense of progression through a day, event or activity? We’re hesitant to provide too much guidance given the free-form nature of the task; the best advice we can offer is to think about who you are (and how this might be of interest to the GSB adcom), consider how you could translate this into words and images, and then try it out. Interview Logistics (Please read carefully)
1. If you have not already submitted your official transcript and GMAT/language test scores, please do so as soon as possible. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE A FINAL DECISION ON YOUR APPLICATION WITHOUT THE REQUIRED OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS.

2. All interviews must be by completed by Wednesday March 5th, regardless of location or by whom the interview is conducted. All final admissions decisions will be released by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26th. Please schedule your interview immediately!

3. Interviews are available here at the Harper Center on Campus, by location (Mumbai, New Delhi,Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Tel Aviv) and by alumni interview. If possible, we highly encourage all applicants to interview on campus. Applicants who sign up for interviews on Saturday, February 16th or February 23rd will have the opportunity to have lunch with current students.

4. To schedule the interview, login to your online application, select "Interviews" in the menu bar on the left.

5. Your interviewer will not be familiar with your application. The only information your interviewer will have is the updated resume you submit at the time you schedule your interview.

6. After the interview has been completed, the entire application, with the interview evaluation, will be reviewed by a member of the admissions committee who has not previously read your application or conducted your interview.

7. Please note that your application status as "Invite to Interview" WILL NOT change even after the interview is completed. Your status will only change once a final decision has been made on March 26, 2008.

8. We invite you to share your feedback with us regarding your interview. Through your application account, you now have access to an optional and anonymous online survey which is aimed to assess the process for scheduling the interview and the interview itself. We value your opinion and look forward to learning your experience.

9. All applicants are asked to bring a form of photo identification to the interview.

Tips/General Information for the interview:
# Be sure to upload your resume with all updates for your interviewer to review prior to selecting interview.
# Be sure to wear business attire to the interview, regardless of where it is conducted.
# Be sure to allot approximately forty-five minutes for the interview even though the interview itself is 30 minutes.
# Plan to arrive for your interview early. Parking, transportation, traffic or other such obstacles should be planned for. We will be maintaining a tight schedule for On-Campus interviewing so accommodating late arrivals may not be possible.
# Be yourself - the interview is an opportunity for the Admission Committee to learn more about you. It is important that you share your stories with us, and avoid telling us what you think we would like to hear.
# All interviews, regardless of the interviewer, are weighted the same. You may be interviewed by an alumnus, admissions committee member or a current second year graduate assistant.

if you look at the email that I have posted below, you'll see that it'll stay at that until the very end (it won't change after the interview)

I called them like an hour ago to schedule it. She said that there were spots on the morning of 3rd and the 4th. So I'd say call them directly and ask.

Seems like a large bulk of the invites have went out given that the dates for on-campus interviews are rapidly approaching. The outlook isn't bright for those without an invite (including me).

Guys 20th is a long way away. I suspect that they are "saving up" campus interview dates after the 23rd so that they can accomodate interview invites that go out later. My case was somewhat exceptional, since I am flying out long way to attend it and can only do so on the 4th.

For those who think this is a good interview percent - wait till the 20th, I see a LOT of strong names / profiles among those who haven't received interviews yet.
