That was 6:54 my time...I had been at work for an hour already. Mornings are usually pretty slow.

I guess that shows how I have no life outside of the MBA application process these days.

Looking at Admissions411 info for last year, the percent of invites is either way down this year or only half the invitations have been sent.

Am still at Chicago airport after visiting GSB Live today. One key point for everybody. As per Rose Martinelli, GSB is inviting 60% of applicants for interview this year for she likes the quality of the appications.
Also, for Rhyme especially, GSB does a really awesome job with these Live events. The amount of detail they had and the transparency they show in eveything was pretty impressive. We actually went through a case study of an applicant and discussed what her key strengths and weaknesses were which gave us a better perspective on what the Ad Com does as well when they look at our applications. Must tell you it must be alot of work for them....

Count me in for an interview. Question: How important is it to interview on campus, given I attended the GSB live event in September?

They claim it doesn't make a difference if you interview on campus or off. An advantage of on is the interviewer will be a current student so they will have the most current view of the school. You may get an alumni who has been out for 5+ years.

I dont believe they send invites out on the weekends. They dont send out dings until after all the invites are out, and then if you dont get an invite by the 14th then you pretty much know you are going to get a ding.

Not important.

But heres something to consider. An alumni interview can easily last an hour or more. A student interview lasts about 40 minutes maximum. If you happen to get along great with the alumnus, then an hour and a half with them is excellent. If you don't get along with them all that well, then an hour and a half is a gruelingly long time to interview. On the flipside, a 40 minute interview is compressed - there's little time for chitchat - but if things aren't going well, at least you are spared the agony of a two hour conversation.

In other words, consider, at least in part, how easy going you are in person and whether you are the type of person who quickly and easily forms bonds - and then consider whether you would be better off in a short and sweet interview or a prolonged interview. Its really a matter of personal preference - and what environment you think you will do better in.

But as to your original q - no, theres no difference in weight assigned to on campus vs not.
