Glad you put the proper nouns in this order and not the other way around...
Good luck to everyone waiting!

A couple days ago I got this email with not so great news for students:

"The University of Chicago’s Trustees have approved Chicago Booth tuition increases for our Full-Time MBA Program effective this summer quarter. Your tuition will increase by 2.0%, from $4,902 to $5,000 per course. FYI, tuition for first-year students will be $5,090 per course, a 3.8% increase over the 2009-10 level."

Seems like a discount when compared to the UC system.

UC as in University of California? Isn't full time tuition at Haas still cheaper than Booth for in-state residents? Or am I mistaken?

The UC system is raising tuition by like 32%. I don't know if that's just for UG or for graduate programs as well. Either way, I'm sure the Haas tuition will go up dramatically over the next couple years.

Sapphireka,
Do you mean they revoked your offer?

tdave,
My thoughts-- I think an essay is required for a fellowship( I may be wrong here). So, Sapphireka's essay might not have been shortlisted.

If they indeed revoked the offer, then it'll be the first time I'll be hearing of such a case

No no. I mean, I was shortlisted and interviewed and didn't get it. But I already had a scholarship so this would have just been a better one, which would have replaced the other one.

There was an essay for a fellowship? I didn't realize that there was one.

sapphireka, at least you have some nice scholarship money! That's still something to be happy about. Congrats.

OK guys I just want to have a quick whinge, and that's all you'll hear from me on this. Got knocked back for a fellowship today :( (full tuition, living expenses, plus leadership program). It would have been so awesome.

But I've still got some good $$$ so I'm feeling ok.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Did you apply for your original $$$? I was wondering if one can actually submit an essay to be considered for one of the available fellowships.

Okay so what happened was:
1. I applied using the same materials as everyone else
2. Got accepted, got some good $$ on accepance
3. Got shortlisted based on my original application for another fellowship (better $$) - I didn't apply for it, they just decided to interview me
4. Interviewed for other fellowship
5. Didn't get other fellowship

So back to original position 2.

If R1 and previous years timelines are anything to go by, we will be hearing from Booth after 1 week.....

Tick, Tock......Tick, Tock.

633600 seconds to go..........

Sapphireka,
I guess the process of awarding a fellowship is a bit different this year. I know that class of 2010 had to write an essay. Nevertheless, I read that you're in with a $80k scholarship. That's huge...

hey sapphireka, sorry to hear you didn't get your scholarship! (but $80k is not a bad consolation price - I can only imagine how awesome your essays were!)
