I have just been invited to the interview. I doubt that there will be any alumni in my country, so I will probably schedule a phone interview. Is there any disadvantages to that?
Not necessarily... the interview serves three main purposes:
1) To verify your English-speaking ability and overall communication skills
2) To judge for "fit"
3) To see if you have what it takes to be successful in business (i.e. a source of huge donor $$$ in the future); see if you have any "star-dust"
A phone interview would address (1) and partially address (2) above. It won't add anything special to your candidacy but it can definitely provide cause for a ding (e.g. if you can't communicate clearly and effectively in English).
I would concerntrate on your "Why Booth?" response. You will probably be interviewed by someone with a LOT of interview experience and you don't want to risk sounding contrived/uninteresting when you give your "Why Booth?" spiel.
Overall, the interview is a really small part of decision process... i would not worry too much about it.
