Calling all Ryerson (Ted Rogers) MBA Applicants: 2019 Intake!

Hi Narenn,
Thank you, and yes this forum has been pretty quiet till now! I hope other admits start posting soon!

I'll start with a brief about my profile - GMAT 650 & 4.5 years of sales work exp, BBA graduate.

The application experience was pretty straightforward, I submitted the application on 15th October itself and was done with the references in a couple of days. Once this process was done, I got an invite to interview on 23rd. The interview questions were generic (Global Event in News you recently came across, Why an MBA ? and Any example of working in a team) and I completed the same on around 25-26th oct.

I got an acknowledgment mail stating that my application was completed and was under review on 29th October and the final decision was announced on 16th November.

Also, I have to complete 3 Canadian Business courses (MT8921 Case Analysis and Presentation; MT8922 Effective Writing
for Business Administration; MT8923 Canadian Business History).

graduated last year ... and this school is not worth it!

no help in job search from nicole, andrea, jan, and wayne ... their info is outdated and kim (director) is not interested in listening to students she just likes to wish happy bday on facebook.

run away from this school, avoid it even with scholarship. seriously this school is not worth it. if some1 claims you get a return of 99k on a 25k investment within a year, they are most likely lying ... case in point:

i had to take additional courses after completing mba to get jobs in salesforce - a field i had already worked in before mba, recruiters dont know this school and consulting companies hire elsewhere but not here

teguh does not reply ..... its the same story with everyone here. they reply to emails in weeks not days. there fingers freeze in cold winters

gloria is worse than teguh - you will have misfortune of dealing with her if you decide to join ted roger mba

they have 8k+ students in bachelors and only 50-60 in fulltime mba, recruiters don't come here and whole program is given stepchild treatment - interntional students are treated badly, no help

Guys got a reject,
They say i dont meet minimum academic criteria !!

i dont know what that means as i have a 6.83/10 from NIT.

That's a shocker!

According to their minimum criteria, you should have a minimum of 3/4.33 in last 2 years of your graduation, which I believe is equivalent to at least 69.3% marks in last 2 years of your engineering.
Do you have that much percentage in your last 2 years at NIT?

I got 7.36(8th sem) , 7.9(7th sem), 6.86( 6th sem), and 4.65 in 4 th sem (i had incomplete credit in one due to low attendance which i cleared in 7 th sem )

I dont know that to do ?
i had applied for mba full time
i feel quite dejected as this is something i couldnt have thought

i dont know what to do

i have 640 gmat, 6 year work ex

So, a total of 66.92 percent in last 2 years.
Maybe this is the reason for the rejection as they require 69%. {Provided my calculation and comprehension is correct}

But dude, whatever be the case, they should know it is NIT we are talking about.

Maybe you ask them to clarify your doubt of reason for rejection, right to the exact numbers?

i have no idea, ihope other colleges in canada dont use the same criteria, else imight need to give gmat again

its sad having so much experience and out of classroom activities
i thought being an mba is more about ur whole personality and just marks!!!
I have worked in startups for past three years and presently in one from unicorn club.
its just not fair in a way.

There are many other colleges that require Overall grades to be >= 60% for Indian Candidates.
