Hello all Ryerson applicants,

I am a finance professional (undergrad in Engineering) with 8+ years of exp. from India. I do not have a business/finance degree. I want to remain in Finance post MBA and would like to work in Canada.
Is Ryerson's Global MBA a good choice for me? MTI seems to be great for IT guys. I am looking a finance focused full time program in Canada that would be little soft on pocket. Ryerson could be a great choice, being located in Toronto. Suggestions pls.

Hi b9n920,

If you want to stay in finance stream. Ryerson Global MBA is right choice for you. Howerver, MTI is not only for IT professional. It is technology related management study, where scope is bigger than IT. Initially, I had same assumption, until I attended information session at Ryerson.

Hi Ravi,

Thanks a lot for ur reply. It definitely helps get things straight. I guess u received an admit.
I have a Qn: the app deadline for Full-time international applicants without a business degree is 21 Mar 2016 and the Foundation Courses starts by May 2016. So, less than 2 months will be available for Visa and all that.
Again, Foundation Courses are decided by the University. Is that possible to complete any course in India to save time (and money too).
Sorry if I am bugging you, but have u faced any issue like that?

Hi,
I will be applying for Ryerson MBA program. I have a couple of questions-
A few Basic details about me , Nationality - Indian, GMAT-640(Q43,V35), Work Experience- 35 months (Mobile Apps Developer)

1. Is TOEFL necessary since my Undergrad was instructed in english?

2. How many years of work permit will I get post MBA? I am hoping to settle down in Canada

3. There is no employment report on the website, how many % of international applicants get job offers and average pay?

4. Should I go for MBA or MBA(MTI)? I would like to move to consulting/IT post-MBA.

Hi simulator

I think I can answer ur Q no. 1 with full confidence. I received an email from Ryerson very recently saying, "Students who completed their Degree in an English medium may waive the English test requirement by providing an English medium letter from their University, confirming English as the medium of instruction and examination."
If that requirement is cool to you, I think you don't need to write TOEFL / IELTS.

I FEEL you should head for MBA-MTI. Not very sure, though. Why don't u email them directly. They are pretty fast in responding. Good luck :)

Yes you could. But I would suggest you wait as I have written to them. Their response was that due to the large volume of applications it is taking longer than expected. But I also got another mail that within this coming week they will let us know.

How would they give a decision before conducting an interview? And what else was written in that mail?

The Kira video interview is just a formality used by many B-schools now as a way of getting guaranteed face-lift with the candidate before deciding whether they will actually interview them. It's more to understand your thought process and communication skills. I doubt final admit decisions are made based on the Kira video interview. I could be wrong though, but this is my view.

Ok so I got my admit today. (I'm hoping it's my admit, as it's not yet reflecting on the student center page. But they said to give it 24 hrs). However, it's a positive mail and it sounds like I'm admitted. So I'm extremely happy and relieved. *phew*.
