Hey all, is 690 GMAT (Q49 V34) or 319 GRE (167Q 152V) a competitive score for an ORM to get into Simon?
Hey,
panda_fighter,
Thank you for your post!
Firstly, let me clear this. GMAT is just one of many factors used to evaluate a profile, and even though it’s a common conception that GMAT dominates over other factors, it’s not true! Essay questions and Interviews both held an equal position while deciding your admission.
The minimum GMAT required fro GMAT stands at a range of 600-700, now since your an ORM it should ideally be around 710+ to have a better chance however, by working on other aspect of your business school application like adding some stellar leadership moments, instances where you steered your team in the right direction and oversaw its successful completion. Highlighting such impactful experiences in your resume can effectively help compensate the need for your GMAT score.
Another crucial aspect would be portray a clear understanding of what excites you about the B-school and why they should accept you as an engaging, dynamic, crucial person to their program who can enhance your peers’ learning experiences in ways beyond normal imagination. Your Goal is to make every effort that can contribute to complement your GMAT score. All of this will help you assure the adcom that you are a good fit for their program.
Lastly, make sure to add a list of schools as backup B-schools well because it’s always better to be prepared for every situation. I hope this helps!
