Well, I know its late news - got Dinged at Stan!

I did feel bad initially, but guess I am over it now. On the brighter side, the whole application process has helped me learn more about myself! I am planning to work on my weak areas so that I can apply again in the near future as a stronger candidate.

Hearty congratulations Terry!!! and good luck to all the R2'ers :)

hey grad_mba, sorry to hear about that... was rooting for you man. I can't believe we only have a *5%* admit rate here on GMATClub, when our rate at all other schools are higher than the average.

So are you going to any other schools this year grad_mba or are you just going to reapply?

You're right on the "learning more about yourself" thing. That "What matters most to you" essay helped me realize the motivation behind many of my decisions over the past 20 years. That is probably the best consolation prize from a ding ever. :)

Sorry to hear about that, grad_mba. You've already got a great profile, by the way... I'm sure you'll do wonderfully whenever (R3, next year, etc.) you do decide to go for it.

Very true, grad_mba. I also believe that this application process made me look into myself and think about the future in a completely different manner. And I am planning to work on my weak areas as well. I don't think I will have the enthusiasm to apply again next year. But hopefully I'll be able to utilize my learnings in some other way (Personally and professionally). Anyway, let's see what happens with our rest of the applications.

ps. I had said this to you in a PM as well .. but I truly believe that you have a very strong profile. Don't lose hope by these results. All the best.

Does it normally take this long for them to start sending out R2 interview invites? Aside from a couple of dubious reports on other sites, it doesn't appear that they have sent any out yet.

I guess they are sifting through the apps and putting people into groups before deciding which ones will get invited. It's not a rolling process afaik.

I'm pretty sure it is a rolling process. In the first round, invites started to go out about 1 week after the deadline and continued for at least another two months.

Here's a post from the AdCom blog regarding first round invites... I would assume the process is pretty similar for R2.

Good luck everyone!

I agree. Stanford seems to provide the least amount of info compared to HBS and Wharton on when interview invites will be sent. Both HBS and Wharton sent emails or posted on their blog exactly when most interviews would be sent. Not the case for Stanford.

It's been extremely quiet on the interview front on this board. Anyone have any info on if most invites are still to come?

It's tough to judge because you're dealing with a smaller sample size with Stanford, but based on what's been posted on admissions411 (which was a good indicator in R1), it doesn't look like they've even started sending them out yet - and if they have, they've only sent out a very small number.

UTdub-

Congrats, that's great news! I think I've summarized my interview somewhere in this thread, but if I can help in any way, please ask.
