Although JHU is not a big name in business education, one cannot deny the fact that Johns Hopkins University is a prestigious university. I would go JHU.

I am currently waiting to hear if I am admitted for their MS in Finance. Similar to you, I absolutely love the curriculum that is offered with JHU.

I KNOW! The curriculum is beautiful. Best of luck with your admissions. Do drop me a dm if you choose to go here.

I will also add that a friend of mine did a PhD at Johns Hopkins in Cellular and Molecular Medicine in 2018. Guess what he does now? Associate Consultant at McKinsey & Co. I know that he may be an outlier but I did feel the need to let you know that this bit of information.

Ha! Thanks for sharing. It seems logical to hire professionals for a specific area - souvik101990 what is your experience with niche recruiting? I think that fits the model of recruiting experts from each field?

That is correct. I just got off the phone with him. He is in the pharma area he stated.

I am not sure about either schools but a Masters in Marketing should open doors to all kinds of marketing roles regardless of the school you go into. The brand will only matter if JH Carey has alums in the employers that you are seeking. Otherwise it may not help you much.

I will also not bank on the McK example, because consulting companies (esp. one as big as McK) will routinely hire subject matter experts with deep expertise in a very specific industry. Masters in marketing will not help you land a gig at McK as far as I can tell.

The best way to make a decision for something like this is doing informational interviews with alums/career services to see if they really align with your goals. Also, keep in mind that most marketing CPG employers do not sponsor international students (as far as I know only KF hires internationals), so you will be left with tech marketing exclusively.

That makes a lot of sense. A CPG gig is my dream. Ill get in touch with some alumni.
